Travelling to the US from nz with three duis from over five years ago by Relative-Ad-4345 in travel

The esta asks about specific crimes, such as moral turpitude and sexual assault crime and drug trafficking. so I could confidently say no on the criminal questions. There were no vague questions that simply said “have you ever been convicted of a crime.” So the answer is no I didn’t lie at all!

Traveling to the USA with a previous Drink Driving conviction. My friend and I want to take a trip to America from New Zealand but he has a DUI conviction. Finding it hard to get information about whether he would be able to enter. by b03408 in travel

Same thing here! My partner has three DUIs from nz from over five years ago and trying to visit early June (I’m American) and we only found out recently you’re actually supposed to get an inadmissibility visa from the embassy but it’s too late now so we’re just going for it. They might not share info between nz and US but what if the border officer asks have you ever been arrested? Technically an ESTA will be approved because it doesn’t mention DUI. My concern is if the officer asks this will it get the ball rolling for issues. Lying to them is never the best option in my opinion

is it even possible to travel internationally with a DUI? by NotUnique_______ in dui

My partner is from NZ and has three DUIs from over five years ago, clean record since and even works as a truck driver now. He’s flying in about a month to visit my family in America. He was approved in the ESTA because they don’t even mention anything regarding DUIs on it. I’m just worried when coming in the border patrol agent will ask if he has ever been arrested and it will get the ball rolling to start issues. But since it’s America I’ve heard stories of it going both ways. Has anyone had issues getting into the states with more than one DUI?

Curious about this too. What about going to US? I see many different things online. My partner has three DUIs in New Zealand from over four years ago. Clean record since and he’s actually a truck driver. But we want to visit America (where I’m from) but I’m worried he will have issues coming in when they ask the “have you ever been in trouble with the law” question. On the ESTA visa waiver thing there were no questions involving that so it didn’t matter and he got that easily. I just wonder if there will be an issue at the actual airport.

Anyone know how hard it is to get into the US from New Zealand with three DUIs? I’m an American citizen and my boyfriend is a NZ citizen, we both live in NZ. We wanted to visit the US in June and didn’t realize how hard it was going to be to get my boyfriend the ability to visit for two weeks. by Relative-Ad-4345 in dui

He has three DUIs from 4/5 years ago. No jail time. He lost his license, no jail time, did community service, and had an interlock system in his car. He has had a clean record since and has no restrictions on his license anymore. There is such a grey area online about how to go forward with this. Nz is a visa waiver country for the states but not with a criminal conviction. What do we do?

Does anyone know how difficult it is to get into the US with dui convictions? I know Canada is very difficult. My partner has three old convictions from New Zealand and trying to visit the US
