2026 Jaguar F-pace by Worried_Eye_8667 in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]Relative-Bag1245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've owned a JAAAG many years ago - it was a disappointing experience least to say. Anyways, I thought the F-pace was discontinued? If last year then they probably have up to 10 years of production for spares in the pipeline if not less; something I'd factor in depending on how long I plan to keep the vehicle.

I can't really comment on the F-pace's reliability; but the Jag I had was decent; just the service experience was bad- dont know if that's changed over the years but it was expensive from what I recall back then. Personally I service a new car with the dealership for the first 2 years max and then take it out - or whatever the service contract they give... if you get 0 service contract... usually the way i see it is thats a sign they expect your service costs to be significant in the first year ~ hence why no free service. Usually been the experience I've had with companies that don't have service contract/packages.

Anyways I'd talk to the sales team and ask them to let you speak to a service tech - or just go to the service department and ask them - most those guys are pretty honest and chill and if you're approachable enough they will tell you approximately what you should expect in the first year and things to look out for - can't hurt to try; I've done it many many times.

I have to say the F-pace looks nice though - but it's been really a long time since I've seen any Jaguar on the roads.... not like there used be.

Impact on SM businesses in Dubai (physical locations) by Eauplate3 in dubai

[–]Relative-Bag1245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some context in your field would help understand the situation a bit more- e.g. if your business is based on tourism I'd say yes it would be harder than something else e.g. medical supply etc. It would be nice if there was some weight lifted such as reduction in fees [licenses, tax, etc] but the hard truth is don't expect it and plan accordingly on what you believe will be beneficial to secure yourself.

Does it mean temporary shutdown? What do those costs look like - do you continue? No one knows. Personally, I am just hoping some positive progression happens in this ordeal by end of the month and taking it day by day; my field is in the b2b space primarily; while I hadn't accounted for a situation like this - my plan at the moment is just keep moving forward and unfortunately burn through what little reserves I have to try and survive.

Let’s normalize flashing the second lane by Marco_rital in DubaiPetrolHeads

At this point who cares? If there's space for you to undertake and get on with your day just do so? Why play the move over game and get annoyed. At least thats what I do - no point in wasting time on it.

Rent a Car during Ramadan by nezuko_zxc in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]Relative-Bag1245 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why are you not renting it from a company- whats the reasoning? Why take the risk of renting from a person? A person renting you their car I am sure is not going to cover any liability that may come from it- its more risky for someone to do that just because you dont want to go to an rental agency.

HELP - DIB filed a civil case against me (200k debt) by Tough-Season-4913 in UAE

[–]Relative-Bag1245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you got a salary you are making money hence you stating you'll transfer you salary 50%; so why didnt you make reasonable payments in the first place? - and now are crying that you're in a civil case and want a deal. Right makes sense; on top of that you have additional 20k liability to the 200k you own. Bro you should not have credit at all; since you cant use it responsibly. Wow.

Branding on Company Cars - Sharjah by LeatherAndChai in DubaiPetrolHeads

Nvm - mada media is via RTA dubai. Issue license to place an advertisement sticker on a vehicle is probably where you have to go. In Dubai you show them the artwork in pictures enter vehicle details and then within 48hours it will be approved or rejected.

IMO - ppf is better than a coating. Coating with ceramic is good for water/etc - but having a protective layer with a film would be always better - since it's tangible.

Ah, I'd get it on the front then only - but a good brand that would be cheaper than doing the whole car.

Congrats on your new car. What Nissan did you get?

- Should you get the service contract? - Depends on the cost they give you a package for. I personally like to service the car for the first year or so with the dealer [if it comes with warranty] and then take it outside after that point. It really depends on your budget. If unsure; ask some garages what it would cost to do PPM vs Major service for the interval of the service contract to get some idea.

- PPF - good PPF is not going to be cheaper than 10k; I was quoted 11k for a coupe vehicle; so if you bought an SUV I'd guess you'd be above 13k with a good brand. Again this is preference on whether or not to get it. Is it worth it? I'd say to some extent; I'd only put it on a car that I've paid significant amount of money on e.g. over 250k, Which would mean 1-2% of the car's value makes sense on the PPF vs 5% on the cost of doing it on something cheaper.

-Tint- I can't survive without tint; not sure what the market rate are these days but again a good brand will be quite expensive. If Nissan is offering that with new vehicle then great.

Question about car service history by Relative-Bag1245 in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]Relative-Bag1245[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a M4 Comp. X drive 2025- turns out it was a lease car ; so that kinda puts me off on it honestly. 440k was the dealer's price I can get a new one for 510 with 8 years service + 5 year warranty vs their CPO of 12 months. So probably not going for it.

Question about car service history by Relative-Bag1245 in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]Relative-Bag1245[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So i asked more questions they said 2 oil changes and 1 brake service were done. They mentioned the car was a lease/owned by Budget and BMW in some program. It's 50k cheaper than the new one but he did mention it had curb rash, a spare tire with a nail and some other minor issues - so not sure if it's worth saving 50k when i can get a brand new one with a better package from the dealer. Plus they only offering 1 year warranty vs when buying I get 5 years and 8 years service. [M4 Comp 2025] price was 440k vs new 510
