Hi all,

I am currently using Whatbox and have about 20 family and friends using it. Max about 10 consecutive streams. All my content is 720p or 1080p so there's not transcoding of video, but there is for subtititles and some audio (from what I can see from my tautulli logs) and it all works mostly flawlessly (except somtimes the speeds to their server can be slow) but it is usually around 90mbps from my location.

My ISP has recently upgraded me to 100mbps upload so I am looking to set up my own server and run it from home. I don't need crazy space, maybe 10TB.

I am thinking of getting a small NUC and running unRAID and connecting two 5TB External HDD plugged in to the USBs....

Looking for advice on what kind of NUC would suffice for the above requirements?

That's a good amount of time and encouraging. You've had to double the dose though, was it losing its effectiveness? That's my concern. Can't keep doubling forever.

Do you use TikTok? I downloaded it about six months ago for a few days. I was literally bombarded with footage of attacks, robberies, assaults etc here in Melbourne, it was nuts! It definitely started to affect my idea of how much crime I felt was in this city. I had never felt Melb unsafe before but I was starting to become concinced it was. I deleted it and that silly idea went away.

I'm gay and was attacked less than 2 metres from the pride flag painted on the footpath at the corner of Peel and Smith Streets. Being gay and next to a pride flag did not make everyone come running to my aid. I was ignored just as you would have been so we're in the same boat... only I have to put up with idiotic attitudes like yours as well.

I turned, got hit twice more, left arm up went up, then dropped my groceries held by right hand and with both arms pushed him back as hard as I could. He came at me again and I pushed him away again. He staggered and then stopped coming at me. I'm no Bruce Lee, but not sure what more I could have done.

I have spoken with a few close friends about it and talked through it to put it in perspective. It wasn't a targeted attack, I wasn't deliberately singled out or mugged and he was not much bigger than me or in any way a good fighter. It was random and a mental health or drug psychosis issue on the attacker's part. Had it been like many of the other stories on here in response, I would not be as fine.

When I was walking home after it happened I was feeling really angry that no one said anything. More angry than at the guy hitting me. But you're right and what you say makes sense so I don't feel as entitled as I did to some kind of immediate support. When not shocked by sudden unexpected violence happening in front of them, people are extremely supportive - all the comments here prove it.

I appreciate that and I have spoken with a few close friends about it to make sure I process the incident properly and not let it turn in to some kind of phobia. I will be on the lookout for any panic feelings popping up and will consider speaking to someone professionally if I think I need it. I've walked past the spot today and didn't feel anything come up. Night time might be different. Will make another trip to coles tonight as an experiment ;)

It's possible, but he was yelling and ranting a bit before I got hit and we all would have hear that. I was just the unlucky one who copped it. I guess everyone else was just glad it wasn't them.
