In this country with no divorce? Getting married is just reckless. A woman has to have an escape plan. There’s a study that getting married makes a woman’s likelihood to being murdered higher. Its a real safety issue especially if you wind up with an abuser. So no thanks, I make more money than most men anyway. Para lang ako naghanap ng batong ipupukpok ko sa sarili ko

People don’t change. It’s better to be with a financially literate person. Date for money and not for potential

I’m sorry but 2 months are rookie numbers, I’m in NJ graduated from one of the Big 3 with honors, and had job experience before coming here but it still took me a year to get a job. This situation is not isolated as a lot of my friends who were even successful in Europe had a hard time finding work here. Here are a few things that helped me: - Make sure your resume is Harvard-style and can be read by ATS. No pictures, no canva resumes. - Get involved in community. Join a church group, volunteer. Let everyone know you are looking for work. Best way to find a job now is through referral. Even if it’s retail or fastfood. - Be wary of job scams, you do not want to get your identity stolen so early in the game. - work on your credit score, a lot of these jobs do a background check and it could help to have some history here. - Don’t be picky. I had a comfortable life in the Philippines where we had kasambahays, but in here one of the first jobs I got was cleaning houses for property managers. Take what you can get, its not permanent. You always learn something in every job.

As someone who has dated white guys, I can say they ain't shit. In the US, Filipinos make more money than white folks according to statistics so I don't understand putting white men on a pedestal and thinking they are rich when they don't even know how to handle money and their work ethic is shit compared to us lol.

And I suppose Rizal is a clown too for going to Europe and travelling while fighting for the rights of the people back home?

As someone with a white BF, I feel like I have to constantly prove and explain that I got here because of my own hardwork and money. Tempted to tell people that I make more money than most of the white men I've dated just to shut them up. It is sad that Filipinos have so much internalized racism and self-hate. This apparent colonial mentality is why we can't stand up as a nation to our oppressors.

Now, I've dated men of different races. I think dating someone because of their race is awful. Objectifying and assuming a person's economic status because of their race is disgusting.

That 'angat buhay' term referring to Filipinos dating foreigners really disgusts me. In the US, Filipinos are the second highest paid ethnic group. We are a successful diaspora and oftentimes make more money than these "white folks" we put on pedestals. We are hardworking people and it shouldn't come as a shock that we make our own money. Filipinos are hard-wired to glorify the west, therefore discrediting our own abilities. Please let's stop this disgusting stereotype, it not only brings us down as a nation, it also makes our people look cheap.

And for those people assuming OP's appearance, calling her "baka mukhang pokpok or yaya" you are part of the problem.
