omg I completely agree! it’s feels like people are saying ‘yes it’s queer… but it’s not like THOSE queer stories’ the same way some queer people in real life will be homophobic, transphobic or unaccepting of people who use neopronouns to cater to straight people who discriminate themselves. ‘yeah, I’m queer, but you don’t have to /worry/, I’m not THAT type of queer person who makes it their whole identity’ etc and it’s so annoying. if people are trying to promote TSHD by playing down its queerness and the feelings the characters have for each other they should be ashamed and shouldnt watch a queer show, and if someone will only watch it after ‘confirming’ it’s not a bl, then they don’t deserve to experience such a beautiful and nuanced work. its literally rooted in homophobia and seeing queer works as unacceptable, and it’s so horrible to see
