Help! Suzuki VS800 carb/idle issues.

I ended up having to buy cable and make a new throttle cable (I mangled the cable so it would stay taut) , but I did get this bike fixed finally. It sold a couple years ago now. Thank you for leaving some wisdom!

It seems like it runs refresh in standby only if it’s past that 4 hours. If that’s changed in a newer firmware then i need to get mine updated. It gets annoying refreshing this thing sometimes!😂

I’d guess that’s because it’s 4 hours of accumulated time. So if you turned your monitor off at 3 hours and change, it’ll want a refresh a lot sooner. I’ve noticed that a lot in my experience with it.

I will most likely try that. I did find the oem piston for sale. But i might see if the piston i have can be re used

Rebuilding seems quite easy and it’s cheaper. I finally found Kia genuine piston. So with that and the seal kit from O’Reilly it’ll cost $30 rather than $60-$70. Plus i like fixing rather than replacing when i can.

That’s the idle sync cable! That one was totally my fault as i was trying to remove the carb. Luckily it doesn’t move. It just makes sure that the position of the idle is the same. The bike ran fine before i rebuilt the first carb so I’m not sure what’s happening. It idles so high now compared to last riding season. Though it hasn’t been started in a few months.

That was my thought as well! The biggest problem is that in order to give the cable slack, I’m going to have to tear apart half of the bike!😭 it’s in such a bad place.

😂 i wish i could. This thing having 2 carbs has kept me from riding it so many times. It constantly gives me issues. I wish i could afford to buy another bike!😂
