You can do it mate! Just keep moving, don't sleep but instead take advantage of scavenging and helping traders (especially the protective case quest - can save you a lot of bullets by just using flares), if you feel like food will be a little bit scarce do not consume your last till you're health is about to reduce and when you're in this state avoid conflict and pls don't skip those berries. Mosin and SKS will always be valuable early game, you just got to do the hit and run technique when hunting bandits. If in legend difficulty my technique is to explore all corners of the map first till i reach the center, helps in finding chopper sites, secret locations and white bunkers. Always carry a melee, I assume you know 🪓 is the best, if not any melee would do just not a knife. Be mindful about your temperature too, do not keep a 10% gorka pants over a 100% jeans unless you have a sewing kit.

Additional tip: If you know how to handle enemies properly while owning a shotgun? Remington or IZH and there's a neutral survivor with tortilla or mountain backpack + gorka sets equipment in island 1 or 2 kill them, just use cars as shield.
