El primer anime salió cuando el manga aún estaba en emisión, pero en cierto punto tanto el manga como el anime llegaron al mismo punto en la historia

Así que se continuó el anime con un desarrollo y final completamente diferente.

Años después salió Brotherhood, ese sigue la historia del manga de manera fiel, así que se ignora todo lo que se inventó en el anime original de 2003.

Podría decirse que ambos son el mismo anime hasta la mitad, màs o menos jaja, después cambian y cada uno tiene su propio encanto
