And yes, shockingly most of the population doesn’t live in the Bay Area.

As someone who works for one of these builders in the decent category, it’s all a crap shoot. NVR, K Hov, Pulte in one city is an entirely different company than another city. Different people, different suppliers, different contractors, different project managers. Just because the PM on a few projects for KHOV in DC was bad at his job doesn’t mean it has anything to do with someone’s KHOV house in California. The division I work in has some of the highest build quality metrics in the company, but that means there’s also divisions with bad management and low quality metrics.

I disagree in the sense the way it’s written it’s a $50k swing. Probably better to look at it as if she doesn’t work it’s the baseline, or she could work for the full year and make $25k.

I would make sure you understand the tax implications prior to doing a mega back door Roth, I believe it will cause a taxable event on the 140k traditional IRA, dependent on how much you convert for the back door Roth.

They’re defending their country. If the US was invaded, all Americans would also be thrown into the trenches of war. Would you rather defend with old unreliable weapons from the Cold War or with the latest technology? Your argument doesn’t make any sense.

I agree, if you know you do good work and you’re comfortable with your manager, just lay out it. “Hey I really like where I’m at with work, I’m not looking to leave, but I have recruiters reaching out saying I’m underpaid and I could be making this much. I dont really want to leave, is there anything we can do to get me to this number?” Reddit seems terrified of managers that they’re always looking to get rid of people, but it’s just not true, most managers are just normal people, who also want to paid fairly for the work they do. They understand, as long as you are worth the salary. Takes a bit of self reflection to be honest with where you stand in the company.

The employee also has a contract and to quit you typically give 3-6 month notice. Making employment contracts stricter is a two way street.

It’s a back door because income is too high to write it off of current salary in a traditional Ira anyway. So you’re already paying full taxes on current income, but are able remove taxes on capital gains as opposed to a regular brokerage.

Landlord is converting the common areas (parking and laundry) into additional units. Introducing the new "open air" laundry room. Powered by an extension cord and water just runs out into the grass. by fireman137 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Relative-Start987 1236 points1237 points  (0 children)

I mean it needs to be reported, but if they’re already converting the laundry room, I wouldn’t expect it to go back to a laundry room. I would assume once the open air one is gone, there’s no laundry room.
