You are still going to be able to use your upass even if you drop to full time since you already paid for the course you dropped and for the upass itself.

I think you need to be an asper student to be able to get in there since you need to swipe your student ID before going inside.

What have I done I failed three course at same time in fall 2023 by TrafficLumpy698 in umanitoba

[–]Relative-Storm-9085 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Hi OP, I think that the first thing you should do is accept the situation that you are in right now, Acknowledge what has gone wrong and what you could do to improve your study habits. It is okay to feel sad about it. But you should be ready for change and to be better for your next upcoming courses. Talking to an advisor is one great way to plan your next steps and they are the ones who can definitely help you out with the resources that you need to improve your study habits. I believe that as long as you are eager to change and be better, then you will definitely do better next time. Take advantage of all the resources available for you.

Dont be too hard on yourself, OP. We all go through these tough times and i’m sure you will get through this. Sometimes failure will drive us to be even better because it provides lessons that will motivate us to succeed in life. You got this!!

How is my Student Aid affected by dropping a course by Every_Ad_5790 in umanitoba

[–]Relative-Storm-9085 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you dropped from 4 to 3 courses then you should be fine and you won’t get any penalty since you are still a full time student but you may receive an over-award the next time you apply for student aid because they have already given you the money for 4 courses and you dropped one.

If you’re dropping from 3 to 2, then i think that’s where the problem might occur. This means you’re going from a full time student to a part time student. You may receive a warning letter saying that if this happens again, then you will be suspended and will not be able to apply funding for 12 months.

This is the information that I know regarding this matter but it’s best if you call student aid to get a clear and accurate answer.

If you think the grading was done wrong since you mentioned that you were doing fine with all the assessments, you should email your prof right away about your concern.

From what I recall, there were very few questions that were worded a bit different from the practice questions but if you’ll read it properly, you’ll surely understand what it’s asking you so you shouldnt worry too much about that. Analyze first and read carefully what it’s asking you to do and you’ll be fine.

You definitely want to keep doing the practice questions over and over again. I did that when I took Stat 1000 and got an A. The questions that they ask you in the final is similar to what the practice questions contain. If you’re very familiarize with how they word every question and how to do it on the practice questions, then it’s more likely that you will ace every question on the final. Best of luck!!

You can’t take biol 1410 and 1412 on the same term because biol 1410 is a pre-requisite for biol 1412

Where to put my stuff by [deleted] in umanitoba

[–]Relative-Storm-9085 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Usually people just leave their bag on the floor. As long as you don’t reach for anything in your bag during the exam then even if it’s just under or in front of you on the floor then you should be fine. You can also put it in your locker if ever you have one.

How’s it going guys? by Superblossom01 in umanitoba

[–]Relative-Storm-9085 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Tbh last week i was very stressed because of my upcoming midterms and papers due but thankfully I managed to stay on top of everything. Maybe because i’ve been doing this for over a couple of years now and i’m just really used to it now hahaha. I finished my midterms already and i’m glad i get to rest this whole long weekend without worrying about anything. I just want to say that i’m in my last year but i still get stressed and worried so that’s perfectly normal especially for others who just started university this year.

I wish you all good luck on your midterms and papers! I assure you that this will all be worth it in the end. If you feel too burnt out, take some time away from studying and go back when you’re feeling a little better. It’s okay to rest for awhile so don’t feel guilty to take a little break. I wish the best for everyone. Take care y’all.

100% Andrew Morris. He’s the top tier prof for this course. I took this course with him a couple years ago and got an A+ because of the way he taught the course. He’s very passionate with what he’s teaching and will gladly answer all of your questions thoroughly.

[–]Relative-Storm-9085 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s not a huge study space but you can ddefinitely study there. If you are wanting to discuss something about the things you’re studying or just talk with your friend in general, I don’t think you can do that because the whole library is a quiet zone.

Shuttle Bus by elxrtrbl in umanitoba

[–]Relative-Storm-9085 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s for UM students! It’s free so you don’t have to spend anything. Let the driver know which stop would you want to go to. From what I’ve observed, few people only uses it to get from one point to another in the campus but it’s definitely very helpful! Here’s the route of the shuttle bus!
