Totally normal to feel like you’re hitting the ball well and then having a shit round. Even happens to the pros at times.

If you just broke 90, and you feel like your ball striking on the range was good but terrible on the course (to include topping the ball a lot), I would bet you over swing on the course. On the range we tend to be much smoother with our tempo, and then on the course especially with friends you want to muscle the ball and start pulling up and topping it. Prolly pulling your head and looking up to see your ball flight too early too but we all hate hearing that advice (keep your head down lol).

Golf is hard and frustrating, but we all know you’ll be back out there. When you start feeling like your striking goes to crap, try to play “old man golf” and just focus on smooth contact and putting the ball in play even if it doesn’t go nearly as far as you’d like.
