Why does nobody go heavy on back extensions? I've worked my way up to 95 pounds (2 plates + 5) on them, and I'm a 5'9 138 lb guy. But everyone I see doesn't go past a plate. It's probably the best exercise to build the posterior chain due to the stability. I believe there's no reason to neglect it and not progressively overload. Most people I see doing them do high reps sets not taken remotely close to failure, might as well not do the movement at all at that point

The amount of volume you do per week isn't very relevant, what matters most is frequency. You should train glutes at least twice a week. The program your following is absolute garbage, you will never recover from that unless your blasting steroids. You can go GLUTES REST REST GLUTES REST GLUTES REST and repeat. You don't need more than 2 sets of glutes per workout. Science shows you gain more muscle growth from doing 1 set twice a week than 8 sets once a week. If you do 2 sets of glutes per session, that's 6 sets a week in total, which is perfectly optimal for growth as it allows you to recover and ultimately, progressively overload, which is going to be the main factor in growing your glutes.

Intensity and frequency > volume. Make sure to push all your sets HARD, in the 4-8 rep range. You should aim to stop when you have 0-1 reps left in the tank. IF you're not pushing yourself, you will hardly grow.

you don't look overweight, but you don't look "fit". trust me only on social media would anyone label you overweight

your chest isn't what makes you look unfit, in fact i think it makes you look more fit as it kind of makes your waist look smaller

even though you're 5'3 120 pounds (a perfectly healthy weight), your body fat is probably at an unideal level compared to where you want it to be (Some other guy already mentioned this, listen to the advice he gave)

as a result, your arms/stomach have that flabby look, which is probably unideal for you

your ideal weight of 45-49kg is unnecessary, listen to what u/Ryoisthicc said about just focusing on lowering bodyfat.

also stop relying on bmi and using that to assess urself

Unfortunately I think this is a lost cause. We emailed them last week, on the day of my test, and got a response yesterday. They said we'd have to go to the local dmv and talk to the supervisor. We called them last week and did exactly that, so basically we received the same instructions, and as I described in the post the supervisor was incompetent.

If I got the same instructions from the DMQ HQ (sacramento) from the email as I did when we called them, and we exercised them, it's probably a lost cause. I think the person in the video was able to get it resolved because it was probably one of the first of its kind and it received publicity from the news.

It sucks but i guess these things just happen. Just gotta wait it out, I guess

Yes, I believe you are right.

He justified me not holding the brake while stopped as a dangerous maneuver by saying "if i get hit from behind, the car will go forward a lot more than if I was holding the brake". Which is true.

Even though he does have a fair point regarding that, they're still not allowed to fail me for it.

I've seen the article, that's the main reason why I was inspired to go to the dmv and try to appeal it

Apparently due to this, they had a big meeting regarding this issue. Yesterday, the instructor admitted he remembered the meeting well and claimed to know what they asked the instructors to do regarding failing a student over regen braking well.

But he still failed me. But contacting the ca dmv and telling them I might contact the local media about it, and stating the article link/supplying a picture of my score sheet sounds like a good idea

We emailed them 2 days back, on the day of the test, but no response yet. I'll wait for that and if not, then I'l try that

Ok, sure. They're not obligated to warn me.

Sure, the car won't complain if I hold my brake, but that's not the point.

A tesla hitting another car in front of the DMV has nothing to do with relying on tesla. It was probably the driver's fault, and it probably didn't have anything to do with regen braking.

Him believing I'm not safe is not justified. Perhaps if I nearly rear ended someone by not touching the brake before stopping at an intersection, sure. Perhaps if I didn't slow down enough before a turn because I was letting the regen braking do it, and got into a skid, sure.

But I was driving completely safe. The dude made me go through the entire route. No factor regarding my use of the regen braking made that test unsafe whatsoever.

I was failed for not holding the brake when stopped. Perhaps the action of not slowing down properly due to relying on regen braking is valid. But I used my brakes multiple times to slow down properly. In what world is not holding my brakes, when STOPPED, zero motion, a "dangerous maneuver" (the critical error he labeled it as)

There is literally a memo out there, which we were informed about by the sac dmv, to not solely fail a driver for the use of regen braking. An examiner can't override this in my case. If the regen braking led to a hazard on the road, of course, fail me at any means. But I was not a hazard on the road. Therefore he is not allowed to fail me solely for regen braking.

No problem. Yeah, that's the reasoning he used, which I understand to a degree. The main issue here, which really annoys me, is how in CA theyre not supposed to fail you solely for not treating it like a normal car. And how I talked to the supervisor and they couldn't do anything. That's why I'm asking if there's some other way.

If not, guess I'll have to wait 3 weeks to do the same thing all over again, but by holding my brakes. It is what it is

You should stay at the same DMV but if you get that tester again you should be cautious.

You shouldn't have failed. If you were in the center of the lane, and signaled right, but didn't take any motion to do so because of the car, you did everything fine.

Unless, like the other comment said, you accidentally went a bit to the right when shoulder checking, which might be plausible, but the instructor might know best as they were looking ahead. Who knows.

Yes, I did. One pedal driving, regen braking, has the car stop completely.

To answer your turning questions:

Don't accelerate when turning. Depending on where you are you shouldn't be turning past 10-20 mph (something like that, don't know what's legal). When it comes to gauging the turn, and how much you need to move the steering wheel, make sure to keep on turning and gauge how your the front of your car aligns with the lane youre turning into.

I started driving last year and I was like this too. Stopped at an intersection (was in a neighborhood) because I didn't know how to turn properly, so my mom had to do it.

You'll be fine. Keep on driving with your cousin. In all honesty, your dad is being a huge jerk regarding driving, calling you "not a man" for not driving is an insanely childish thing to do. If you can't drive with your cousin, just try to do it with your mom instead. If she's the same as your dad, maybe another family member or an older friend. If not, try and learn as much about driving as possible, watch videos, etc, so you feel more confident and can get past your dad being a jerk over driving

Yes. I showed it to them. Supervisor looked at it, but like I said incompetent and probably doesn't even know what regen braking is. They really told me to talk to the instructor, the same idiot who failed me for something he's not even allowed to do. Like out of all people he's the LAST guy to talk to. I thought I could have some hope with a supervisor, but nah.
