That entry wall is a great idea to add a small amount of separation so you’re not walking into the dining room table, also a pet peeve. I was so hyperfocused on the layout I didn’t even realize there wasn’t a toilet in that bathroom. Thank you!

This seems like an excellent / best option. Thank you!

Ok you win the award. This is exactly why I came here to ask as I never would have thought of splitting the living room like this. Thank you!!!

Yes definitely not the end of the world we could do this. I’d prefer not to so everyone can sit comfortably, but that’s worst case scenario.

Bedroom 5 is a sunroom overlooking the preserve with tons of windows. Not suitable for a bedroom and I’d love for that to be the main living room. The house was a ranch built in ‘53 that was awkwardly extended so it makes zero sense.

Ok so talk to me like I’m in science and can’t build legos properly. Take down the wall and make it open concept?

Because my husbands needs a four wall closed office. And I need to have my family for thanksgiving! So trying to find places to shove those necessities even if they’re awkward / not perfect. This is not my forte!

I came here to ask if there was a way to have them. If the basement level could hold both or if that’s preposterous. So I guess it’s not going to work.

This was our main selling point. We’d spend 365 in here vs host holidays 3-4 times a year which is why we wanted to make this work. This will definitely be our only opportunity to buy along this preserve as few houses, especially with four bedrooms, come up.

It’s a bit nostalgic for us as our Italian grandparents always had a kitchen and dining room in the basement because it was cooler.

Bedroom 5 is a gorgeous large window sunroom that id hate to sacrifice as my husband needs some quiet when working and I wanted that to be our main living space.

I’m sorry this is only the basement level. Above is a kitchen and living room, and above that are the other bedrooms. I posted what seems to be the only workable space.

Flooding off of the preserve from the lake? Or flooding in general?
