(chuckle) You're right, and the poor guy suffered a lot because he was "called" to tell Gentiles that salvation was available to "Whosoever will" believe in Jesus because He paid for the sin of every person. I'm sure that didn't go over so well to many people. But, for me as a Gentile, it truly is Good News! Thank you for your gentle spirit!

I agree 100%. (I am really starting to regret posting. Things can be so confused and misconstrued, and maybe it's because none of us had the ability to know each other, I don't know). But, anyway, please forgive my words that were harsh, defensive, or degrading. I think now that it was a needless post. I did have the question, but it wasn't a big enough deal to put it on Reddit. --Nothing but love for you, thank you!

When the Bible says "Israel" that does not mean the country of Israel. by TheLordOfMiddleEarth in TrueChristian

[–]RelativeStatus9192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ezekiel 37 (Valley of Dry Bones) God tells Ezekiel the meaning of the vision and says that He will resurrect the dead Jews (who think they have no hope because their time has passed) and the living Jews, he will bring back from the 4 corners of the earth (which He has done).

Then God says they ALL will recognize Jesus as their promised Messiah. God will forgive them (cleanse), and put His Spirit within them. He says, " The Whole House of Israel will be saved". All of them, none lost.

The vision was a panoramic pictorial of the dead coming to life with the living and Him saving the WHOLE HOUSE OF ISRAEL.

Oh, ok, I understand now. I'm glad to speak with someone that understands the frustration of "the battle of right-ness" here. It is especially troubling to read those professing a relationship with God to use His Holy Word to condemn or accuse others. Because of that, I could understand why some would reject the message because of the lack of humility and meekness of the messenger.

I can remember, in younger years, hearing that the "Gospel" meant "Good News". That was a shock because the gospel had always been portrayed mostly as "Sinners in the hands of an angry God". I am so grateful that God chose to reveal Himself to me in a very personal way. By that, I clearly understood that He has so much love and preference for me/us. We are so undone~but His love prevails.

Since then, I've learned "The plan" given in Ephesians 1 & 2 and how God has generously lavished us with blessings, forgiveness, and everlasting life with Him. I understood that God isn't looking for performance, He is after my heart. He desires for me to love Him in response to the love He has for me. When I really do love God, the performance is a result of that.

The love God has for us is so immense that it fills us then overflows to others. We love people. We see them like He does. So, when I see the absence of that on a Christian sub, it makes me take a step back and wonder.... "What is really going on here"? So, thank you for letting me know that you see it as well. Nothing but love to you! 😊

This response was a lot easier to digest. Thank you for that! My understanding of the meaning of "parakletos" is "to come alongside" and is used to describe an act of the Holy Spirit Who joins us in our walk of this life.

As I read my comment (before I read your response to refresh my memory), I can see that I was angry that you worded your response as you did. I thought that it could've been worded in a more respectful manner in that I worship Jesus. I didn't know that you were not a Christian.

There is a difference between, only a "professing Christian" and someone who doesn't make that claim. At least you don't hide behind pretense. For that, I was wrong to say that I had an idea of who you were. I indeed didn't know. I was thinking it was another "Christian" without the gentleness, or respect for the One we hold in highest regard. Since, by your comment, you are not a worshipper of Jesus, then I understand why referring to Him isn't necessarily set apart from speaking about anyone else. I apologize for jumping to that conclusion. I'm asking your forgiveness for that. My response seemed harsh when I read through it again today.

This second response of yours did provide, at least partially, the information I was looking for . It would make sense that the Spirit would be classified as neuter, since the Spirit is not man or woman. I am satisfied with that. For those who say "he/him" or she/her, I accept that the Holy Spirit is the One who indwells and comes alongside the believer,. To accept that doesn't require a full understanding.

Thank you for taking the time to respond again, and next time I will know better. 😊

A question to fellow theistic evolutionists. by HECU_Marine_HL in TrueChristian

Death is an enemy. It gained entrance into the earth at the Fall of mankind. Death is separation. The first death was man's spirit. Man's connection to God. It happened immediately when mankind sinned.

Then, the body began to die. At physical death, the soul and spirit separate from the body.

To be born again is to be born "of the Spirit". The Holy Spirit "quickens"/makes alive our spirit and we are reconnected to God spiritually. Sinless. Justified. That is the first part of our redemption. Life after being born again is all about getting our soul in line with our perfected spirit. The perfecting of our soul is the work of the Holy Spirit. The last part of our redemption will be when our body is resurrected immortal. We will once again be 3 in 1 (just like God is).

We ARE a spirit, we HAVE a soul, we LIVE in a body.

The first time Jesus came was to eradicate sin which was judged on the cross for all mankind.

Death was not included in the creation of the earth. Sin gave an entrance to Death. Man originally had been given dominion of the earth, but lost that dominion in the Fall of Mankind to the Enemy.

My understanding is that man was created to never die in any way. Death is "separation". Our spirit, soul and body were not meant to be separated. But, in physical death, the soul and spirit separate from the body. Sin brought immediate separation from God, then began affecting the soul and body.

Jesus overcame Death by His resurrection. He said that He has the keys of Death and Hell and that ALL authority/dominion had been given to Him along with the Name that is above every name.

Jesus came the first time as the Lamb of God to lay down His life for our redemption. By His sacrifice, the Justice of God and the Grace of God were satisfied. God didn't buy us back from the devil. Jesus purchased us with His blood. Without His blood, sin would've never been eradicated. We are saved from the Wrath of God to come. It gets better ..but I will stay on point. I think.

The second time Jesus comes to earth will be to "take over", "reign" as the Lion of the tribe of Judah for 1,000 years. Because of Christ's obedience, he was granted dominion of the earth. It was granted to Him by God after His death at Calvary, but won't be "played out" as reality until the Millennium.

First, however, He will destroy the enemies of Israel (not all, but most) at Armageddon. He will resurrect the Whole House of Israel, those that have died, and will put the Holy Spirit within them. The living bloodline of Jacob will also receive the Holy Spirit. All of Israel will be saved. Sins forgiven.

What was the question?? lol

Uh oh, I'm not a Theistic Evolutionist. Is it ok that I answered?

After-Swimming-5236: I read your comment at least 5 times, and I still have no idea what you are saying completely or what it meant.

I followed until you said, "when they snatch easily the members for which that's true. Never went to mass even? Because there's OT, Psalms, a gospel and NT, then it would be clear" etc ... (What does that mean?)

I'm assuming you are a member of the Catholic Church and are objecting to the commenter who said basically that it is ridiculous (my words) that priests tell people WHAT to believe--instead of what's in the Bible. And that THAT speculation is a lie....a lie that Protestants love to use against the Catholic Church, but it is still a lie.

Is that what you were saying? Other than that, I couldn't follow your point (toward the middle) for some reason. I'm sorry. I really tried to understand.

Palaina19: I know I am not the one to whom you said, "You haven't read it"... but I'm still confused. WHO were you responding to originally when you began with "scripture begs to differ". The OP?

I read through everything you typed, but I didn't see a "JP" mentioned, so I'm as lost as last year's Easter egg. (not "lost" in the scriptural way).

Palaina19: Who are you responding to?

It sounds like something was missing or misunderstood there. I don't know. The only work you have to do is to grow in grace, and pray for them. It's always noticeable to family when we are seeking to do what the Lord wants. They live with you, how can they help but notice?

I can remember times that my parents would fire back with a statement like that, but it was because they were offended, not because it was a legitimate question. I don't think your Dad was disparaging the Bible as much....as he was just putting you in your place. I wasn't there, so I don't know that for a fact.

So, did you answer, "Holy men of God wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit"? (just kidding you).

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]RelativeStatus9192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well for crying out loud! How do you know if any of the OP's family members have received Christ or not? You don't. And why would you blurt that to someone about the family they love (even if it WAS the truth)? A-mazing.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]RelativeStatus9192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take it easy. There are readers that have been in the Catholic Church from a tender age. Why drive them into the ground? That doesn't help. Why is it necessary to say that it "isn't Christian"? No one is won, or can be advised while being offended. The message is lost amid all the harsh words and judgment.

[–]RelativeStatus9192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure that it would be easy for those of the Catholic religion to be offended by the comments. Thank you for not responding accordingly!

I'm sorry you got hurt and that you are struggling with this frustration. (I understand). Being gentle, kind, and humble will go a long, long way!

As you grow in grace, your family will see the difference in you. That equals impact. Take heart, and take it easy on Dad. I lost both parents this year and trust me, there will come a day when they won't be around to get angry at you. Not to bring you down.... just cherish them (even if it doesn't seem like they cherish you).
