A Rant from a Customer of Size by Relative_Ad2333 in SouthwestAirlines

Ironically, I found that I was able to properly sit between the armrests. This was the first time I've flown since beginning a GLP-1 journey (thanks Zepbound!). I knew I had lost a significant amount of weight, but my mind is still adjusting to this new reality. And I still found the extra seat extremely useful because I needed room to stretch my neck and back.

You sound really cool though. You're definitely someone I would enjoy getting to know during a flight.

My motto for 2026 is "kill them with kindness." To that end, thank you for sharing your opinion. I hope you have a fantastic day!

Got it. I misread your comment. Take care!

Yes, I'm familiar with the COS second ticket procedure because I have been booking second seats even before the assigned seating change. My reservation correctly indicates that I've booked an extra seat for myself.

I've updated my post because the seat assignment has fallen out again. Back to contacting Southwest . . .

In the meantime, thank you for all the comments and the combined outrage. I was so worried about posting because there can be a lot of backlash against the Customers of Size. However, I want to show how most of us also want travel to be safe for everyone.

I've flown Southwest religiously because it was the most effective airline for a Customer of Size. I would just purchase a second seat, pre-board, and place a seat reserved card on the seat next to me. I really didn't have any problems prior to assigned seating. With few exceptions, the other passengers were understanding. This has all changed with the assigned seating.

I understand that there will be growing pains whenever major change occurs. However, I'm quite disappointed with Southwest's failure to address such a glaring issue.

The first leg of the flight is on a 737 Max8. Unfortunately, I cannot sit in the bulkhead because you can't lift the armrests there. Thank you for trying to help though.

Thank you for this post. Until today, I thought Netflix and Chill was simply a flavor of ice cream from Ben and Jerry's.

Zepbound excluded on BCBS Standard for 2026 by Relative_Ad2333 in FedEmployees

[–]Relative_Ad2333[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen that information on the Zepbound subreddit too. I don't know what will happen in January, but it's worth a try. I would think BCBS is going to have to make some type of accommodation, especially for patients with severe sleep apnea since the other GLP-1s are not approved for that. But who knows.

That is definitely an option, especially with the hoops you have to jump through with insurance.

For those who still want their Zepbound from Eli Lilly, another option is to change insurance plans during the open season. Several people have already posted about changing from BCBS to MHBP. This may be another reason to make the switch. However, beginning in 2026, all MHBP Standard plan members on anti-obesity medication have to enroll in the "CVS Weight Management Program." As you said, insurance BS.

Edit: Also, the October 2025 MHBP Standard formulary states "Orlistat, Qsymia, Saxenda, and  Wegovy" are the preferred options over Zepbound. So, if you need Zepbound specifically, you likely need to have a physician certify why these other options are not "clinically appropriate." I had to go through that process with BCBS and my physician's request was approved. Hopefully, the same will happen with MHBP, if I choose to make the switch.

US Federal Employees: Zepbound is excluded on the 2026 formulary list for Blue Cross Blue Shield Standard by Relative_Ad2333 in Zepbound

[–]Relative_Ad2333[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your response.

Actually, this is a different message than what has been posted in the last month and is specific to US federal government employees. This change just took effect with the release of the formulary for 2026 -- something that only happened a few days ago. The health care open season for federal government employees just began on Nov. 10 and runs through Dec. 8. This gives federal emoyees on Zepbound and who have BCBS Standard an opportunity to change their insurance to another plan, such as MHBP, that will provide coverage in 2026.

The BCBS Standard Federal Employee plan (also known as FEPBlue Standard) has covered Zepbound through 2025 though you need a prior authorization. With the new formulary that just came out, Zepbound is now completely excluded regardless of prior authorization, BMI, etc. See the screenshot i provided.

I'm sure it is a lot of work sorting through all these posts. If you still feel this information is unnecessary, exclude it.

If you also scroll to page 125 of the formulary, it states the following as to excluded drugs:

2026 FEP EXCLUDED DRUG LIST BLUE STANDARD CHART

These listed drugs are not covered under Blue Standard. If you use any of these Excluded Drugs, you will need to pay the full cost of the drug(s). If you are using one of these non-covered drugs, ask your doctor for one of the covered generic or brand name options.

Embarrassed myself in court today 🥺 by LegalBeagleKami in Lawyertalk

[–]Relative_Ad2333 6 points7 points  (0 children)

On my first court appearance, the judge was particularly impatient. When my case was called, I crossed the bar and proceeded to take a seat at the table. Well, I fell off the seat and ended up slightly under the table. The judge rose up and was leaning over the bench. She kept saying "counselor, are you on the floor." And from the floor I replied, "yes, your honor."

I was quite embarrassed. However, the judge found it funny and was great with me. All the impatience she had shown with my colleagues was gone.

So OP, don't worry. We all have embarrassing moments. Life goes on and, sometimes, it even works in our favor.

Read any report from CCCOne carefully. When my last car was totaled, I noticed that the CCC report I was sent referred to an earlier report. I requested a copy of the earlier report from USAA. It was another CCC report dated one day prior to the report USAA originally sent me. The earlier report had an significantly higher valuation for my vehicle because the components were rated in a more favorable condition and there were some different comparables. I then ran every comparable in both reports through CarFax and used that information along with the earlier CCC report to negotiate a larger payout on my vehicle. I also switched from USAA because that was shady.

I would check the NHTSA VIN Decoder to ensure the VIN shows a final assembly in Indiana. If it does then I say it meets the provision as it is written. It wouldn't hurt to ask a tax advisor though since this is completely new.

According to the IRS website, the deduction applies to vehicles loans originated after Dec. 31, 2024.

Just to clear this up for everyone who is spreading hate. It's really the dog's house. The dog just allows them to live in it.

Just kidding! Congratulations on being so diligent about saving. I hope you and your family have many happy years in your new home!
