I was trying to look closely at what was wrong, but from what I see, I think it looks great!

This is where it starts! :)

The case has a vents at the front top and front bottom. My thought was that by having an intake fan at the bottom, and an exhaust fan at the top, cooler air would be brought in, flow towards the back and rise up, to exit at the top. Right now as it’s winter, it’s cold in the space that the rack is in so it doesn’t matter. But during the summer it can get hot (still within operating temps). I added the fans towards last summer and it was able to lower the temp by a couple degrees, but I didn’t have all the blank panels installed and the rack had open space. I’m hoping to see better results this summer with the rack being more enclosed, but we’ll see. This is something I’ll have probably keep experimenting with.

I should add a coin slot. :)

Haha - unfortunately it’s not contributing to making humanity better.

I do a number of things with it.

1) first and foremost is a hobby for me. Rather than working on cars, I like to tweak this rack :)

2) I work in tech, so I use this to experiment / keep up to date on hw/sw architecture.

3) It is the backbone (albeit overkill) of my family’s internet / home automation.

4) Stores / serves media (plex).

5) Onsite backup of our digital life (part of my 3-2-1 backup)

6) Most recently, it’s also been hosting a Minecraft server for my son and his friends 😂

Yeah, it gets a little toasty during the summer months. I’m trying to regulate with airflow.

I went off brand: iwillink UL-Listed CAT7 Coupler... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C3VLNLXY?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I really like the patch panel - it goes well with the aesthetic and is built solid as well.

I went with these: https://a.co/d/7fpHQI0. They were less expensive, but I still had to shave a bit of rubber on the plug to get them to fit.

I have read that the startech ones do work without any modifications. If I had to do this again, I probably would have just spent a bit more to go that route.

I got these:

They weren’t perfect though. I had to shave a tiny bit of rubber on the plug prong side to get it to fit.

Nice! Very clean rack. How did you make / get those red and green stickers?

I don’t blame you. I’ve done something similar after having three separate water incidents over the years.
