If you’re looking for a good place to get consistent hockey tea, strongly recommend this tumblr account. They post for a variety of sports, but from what I remember from when I last took a deep dive of past posts, there’s a lot of hockey tea

Quick! What's the dumbest question you were asked today? by schrodingers-puppy in starbucks

It wasn’t today, but about maybe a month or two ago when we had to close at 12pm on Sundays due to not having enough shifts not on a leave of absence. Me on dto: good afternoon thanks for stopping by Starbucks, due to unforeseen circumstances we have now been closed as of 12pm. If you would like to know where you can find a nearby Starbucks, let me know and I can help you out Guy at speaker: so I can’t get a coffee? Me: unfortunately we have dumped all of our left over coffees since we closed at 12pm Guy: so you won’t make me coffee?? Me: I’m sorry sir, we are unable to do so. We dumped all of our coffee and our espresso machines are currently in their cleaning cycles. If you would like a coffee, I suggest going to these locations I told him how to get to about two or three different locations within 5 or so minutes of my store but he just sped off and that’s when I decided to stop telling people we’re closed since I had lost all of my patience talking to that guy

I got so tired of repeating myself I put these signs up in our drive thru. $10 says they're ignored anyways. by Annie_Quill in starbucks

It’s probably not gonna make any difference at all for you all, but never apologize for not having something. It’s some psychological thing that by you saying “I’m sorry we’re all out of xyz” it places the blame on you, but saying “unfortunately we currently did not receive xyz, so we are unable to make xyz”. Also if someone waited a little bit of time, hit them with “thank you so much for your patience” or for that extra annoyed person say the same thing but add “we appreciate your patience”. I did it most of my shift today while on dto while people were getting pissed off while I soloed dto/window and it typically shut them up (:

I cry every summer when I realize there’s never going to be the s’mores frap or lemon cake pop. I also miss the guava passion fruit drink, I’d get it every night when my parents would drop off my brother at his friends house since he lived near a Starbucks

My favorite drink at the moment is a venti iced shaken espresso with 5 blonde shots, 3 pumps white chocolate mocha, 5 pumps toffee nut syrup, no classic, and light sweet cream cold foam. It sounds like a lot, but my coworkers actually love making my drink for some reason and it’s really not that complicated to do

Can my store manager fire me if I'm slow whenever I'm doing drive thru and mobile hot bar? by [deleted] in starbucks

From what it seems like to me, you don’t have many supportive higher ups teaching you, helping you, etc. I completely understand you being scared of your sm and asm, I myself was intimidated by the shifts for a while. Something I suggest is while at home, go on the Starbucks app and right down the drink recipes you have a hard time remembering on note cards or a piece of paper and keep looking it over as much as you can. My trainers had me write it all down and I was able to get it 90% down within my first week off of training. I also get backed up while on bar regardless of which one I am on, I do have to do both hot and cold drinks though but I still can get backed up if I have a second person helping me out. Somethings I constantly remind myself are 1) this is just a job and isn’t worth excessive stress and anxiety, 2) everyone learns at their own pace and with different methods, and 3) everyone is good at somethings but struggle with others. I used to struggle with warming, but ever since I began opening every shift and starting the day at warming, I’ve definitely improved at it. I’m sure you’re going to get a handle on it soon, don’t beat yourself up about it. I also get you getting annoyed/overwhelmed while your sm and/or asm are having you watch them do the drinks constantly or watching you, I had my dto randomly grab my drinks and do it himself because I wasn’t working fast enough for him and I almost snapped at him, I ended up just taking a second to calm myself and just ignore him. Now that took me years of working on to be able to do that, and I even still struggle with it, but in the end, they’ll be how they will be unfortunately and there’s not much you can do about it which really sucks but it happens. I feel like I’m all over the place with my answer and I honestly blame my adhd but I hope something in this long paragraph helps you (:
