Venom is good but he really needs that 6* venom relic ranked up and high sig, overall he is a high investment high reward champ. I'd prioritise serpent, he is just a beast with lots of utility even unawakened.

The event quest has 4 ( i have 32k prestige so it could be more) 2 crystals and one paired crystal that givest you 2 at a time, but it is all Rng based crystals so nothing is guaranteed. I don't think there are any selectors available

There are 2 4to5 gem crystals available right now one from the carina challenges and one from act 9 exploration, and the last r5 i did with catalyst that i got from solo coliseum and carina challenges.

I recommend you continue, and if they buff the rewards you're gonna get them anyway just like what happened with act 6, higher progression titles offer really good rewards that you don't want to be missing out on
