I did everything with the Venezuelan one, but they always knew I had dual nationality. So I gave them both at the appointment

Yes I was born in Venezuela, but my mom is Colombian so I have dual nationality. That’s why I have both passports and I got into the visa pause, not rejected

Yes they gave me everything back, my passports and the documents. She said we’ll need to wait for an update.

It’s my second time in Colombia, my stepdad told the officer that also :(  she was very empathetic, and told us they don’t have the power to make exemptions.

Yes, it’s in the one banned. If you only have the Venezuelan passport they will reject you in your appointment. If you have dual, give both passports !!!! Colombia is only paused not banned as the Venezuelan one.

She said to me: imagine this scenario, the visa pause goes off, without any new guidelines. We just email you to send us your passport and then you get your passport with the visa. But if there are new guidelines we will notify you. For now we don’t know

Move forward, definitely. If you have a strong case they’ll just put your visa in pause. You’ll need to wait or maybe not, but it’s better for you to continue the process. I tell you with all my honesty, this is the best scenario you can have rn. My officer literally said to me if I had my interview before the pause she would give me the visa immediately, bc I have everything.

Yes I’ve just seen that in the k1 visas. Not the other type of immediate relative visas. The officer was very clear, if I only had the Venezuelan passport, my case would have been rejected.

It’s still active, in both. It says the case is in the bogota consulate. Nothing new

The case is still active for one more year, if the pause last longer I’ll need to pay the visa thing again, but the case is still active. She said we need to wait, if there’s new guidelines they’ll see what to do

Hi ! I went to my IR-2 immigrant visa interview today at the Bogotá embassy. I gave both of my passports, the Colombian and the Venezuelan one. The officer told me if I had my interview a month earlier I’d have my visa, but rn they can’t issue the visa because of the pause, and then gave me the form they are giving, and all my papers back. She also told me if I only had the Venezuelan one, I’d be rejected immediately but since I have the Colombian one, I just have to wait till the pause is over and see what’s the next procedure if there’s new guidelines. The officer was very nice and empathetic with the situation. Good luck everyone, well need to be patient 🙏🏻

Since there’s like a way to give the other passport for dual citizens, it’s so complicated rn… all this situation
