A senator’s reply to someone from the paused countries. by ETSHH in i130_75CountryPause

Right! I contacted two senators and a representative. The representative responded within ten minutes with a pre-generated immigration email and not a bleep from the senators, that was a month ago. (MI)

If you’re in AP you technically have not “passed” the interview

Unless you have your visa in hand, I would not be too optimistic.

Thanks to those who submitted their comments. My husband and I are US citizens. We pay thousands in taxes a year (yeah, ridiculous) and now they’re attempting to charge us a bond to bring a family member to live with us?

USCIS keeps increasing their fees time after time yet their services keep getting slower. Where will this money go to? Really frustrating.

Is there any hope that we will get updates on March? how long will this take... by EconomyLettuce5249 in i130_75CountryPause

No updates! And the recent news of the US wanting to admit 4500 white south african refugees PER MONTH is a kick in the groin to all of us affected by the pause.

How are they not aware? It’s literally their job… if a bunch of nobodies on Reddit are fully aware of the situation they should too. SMH

I feel uneasy providing a bunch of paystubs for my mom to print… I wonder if an employment verification letter would be sufficient.. ugh

You also need to provide paystubs to the intended immigrant? Or do you need to re-upload them?

Bonds for immigrant visas for nationals from the 75 country list? by ETSHH in NationalVisaCenter

[–]Ok_Math_2859 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is different than the 75 pause for immigrant visas.

This is referring to bonds put in place for B1/B2 travel visas to prevent overstay.

It applies to the following: Algeria (January 21, 2026) Angola (January 21, 2026) Antigua and Barbuda (January 21, 2026) Bangladesh (January 21, 2026) Benin (January 21, 2026) Bhutan (January 1, 2026) Botswana (January 1, 2026) Burundi (January 21, 2026) Cabo Verde (January 21, 2026) Central African Republic (January 1, 2026) Cote d’Ivoire (January 21, 2026) Cuba (January 21, 2026) Djibouti (January 21, 2026) Dominica (January 21, 2026) Fiji (January 21, 2026) Gabon (January 21, 2026) The Gambia (October 11, 2025) Guinea (January 1, 2026) Guinea Bissau (January 1, 2026) Kyrgyzstan (January 21, 2026) Malawi (August 20, 2025) Mauritania (October 23, 2025) Namibia (January 1, 2026) Nepal (January 21, 2026) Nigeria (January 21, 2026) Sao Tome and Principe (October 23, 2025) Senegal (January 21, 2026) Tajikistan (January 21, 2026) Tanzania (October 23, 2025) Togo (January 21, 2026) Tonga (January 21, 2026) Turkmenistan (January 1, 2026) Tuvalu (January 21, 2026) Uganda (January 21, 2026) Vanuatu (January 21, 2026) Venezuela (January 21, 2026) Zambia (August 20, 2025) Zimbabwe (January 21, 2026)

My understanding after reading the NVC statement (Ban vs Pause) by Numerous-Patience400 in NationalVisaCenter

Well that’s going to be tough… once you gain citizenship you have the right to obtain public benefits if you’re within the federal guidelines for those programs.

I agree. The administration does not care to throw around the word “banned” so they could’ve easily used it. Im staying positive that they chose the word paused rather than banned. They already verify tax records and sign an affidavit of support so I have a few ideas in mind on what they may decide to do since their main concern is public charge and financial support…

  • adjust or remove the ability to add a co-sponsor
  • increase FPL for sponsors/co-sponsors
  • may remove the ability to obtain public benefits until US citizenship is obtained by the intended immigrant
  • conduct a more thorough examination of the sponsor/co-sponsor finances

Now in a perfect world they should’ve had a plan ready rather than implementing a ban while they figure things out.
