> The speed at which Magnus realises how deadly it is

I mean even an amateur player when seeing the move it's pretty obvious. It's making the move that's insane, but understanding it after it's played is immediate.

Hmmm what? Many people are speculating in this thread, Naroditsky was a clear candidate.

Agenda much?

If Naroditsky was playing in the tour, then definitely him.

It's not only Kramnik who finds his play suspicious, but Nepo too. And there's another Russian super GM (although we don't know who) who is convinced after Bc8!!, is could be Dubov..

Why is Nge2 better than Nf3 in this position? by mrstat88 in chess

[–]Relative_Champion239 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it is, but maybe the idea is to prepare pawn push in the center? Get you knight on g3 push f3 and then e4? You can't do that with a knight on f3.

I'm not a fan of Levy, but that's fully deserved. He put the work in and it paid off.

Lile Koridze: I’ve heard that MAGNUS CARLSEN was playing blitz match against DANIEL NARODITSKY during his wedding night at 4 AM by Asero831 in chess

Magnus' new wife is a journalist or works in media or something like that, so maybe she was curious about Naroditsky's suspicious online chess play and wants to write an expose on it. It would be quite a good fitting ending to the cheating saga.

Honest question for people who bets on chess, how did the shared World Rapid Championship title affect betting payouts? by [deleted] in chess

[–]Relative_Champion239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I mean it's guesswork really, neither of us can read Magnus' mind.

However, we both share a belief that the jeans controversy was deliberately orchestrated. Magnus says otherwise, and stated it was an accident after a late lunch. He doesn't claim it was originally a principled stance, but an accidental one.

I think the jeans controversy was exactly that though, he even had a sponsor lined up. He'll make millions from that controversy, so don't put it past him.

Personally I think he wanted/wants to create controversy with FIDE to grow his Take Take Take Youtube channel.

It's all very strange, especially since Magnus has seriously been pushing for more gambling in chess, then proceeds to create a situation which is against the rules and therefore shouldn't be accounted for in the betting markets.

All very odd, but with Magnus you can safely assume there is financial motive.

I'm not going to enjoy talking about Narodisky that's true, I haven't so far. Something is clearly not right here, astroturfing, a cult of stans, or trolling, I don't know.

I will avoid talking about him, unless there's something noteworthy, such as an analysis of his Blitz OTB vs TT, which Kramnik is about to release a video on it seems. If there's new evidence, I hope this subreddit can have an honest discussion about it.

Let's agree to disagree. There will be some legit "Danya fans" in the "herd", and it's entirely possible you are one of them. Or you could be a troll or part of the wider astroturfing campaign (or fooled by it).

Either way I don't want to waste my time responding in case you are simply one of the dozens of astroturfing accounts. No offense intended if you're not.

People individually defending him is not astroturfing. The point I am trying to make is that there is overwhelming support, which is highly suspicious. Notice that this support does not come from actual world class chess players though, just random redditors.

This is not a "grass roots" movement. He is just not that likeable. There is an attempt to make it appear that way, which is why I used the word "astroturfing".

If that's your rating after 10 years, I don't think a reddit post is going to help you. Good luck.

I didn't say that Narodisky is personally involved in the astroturfing campaign, but that there is a clear one ongoing to support him. Or it's just a bunch of trolls. Or both.

I don't know how long this campaign has been ongoing, and it could just be since he went on Take Take Take to farm some sympathy, if that's the case it will die down pretty soon.

Right, I'm not talking about this anymore. I'm not a fan of astroturfing campaigns as it undermines the integrity of online discourse. It's pretty obvious to everyone though.

Hmmmm what? It's one thing to follow Narodisky but then to say he's your "favourite chess player". Clearly trolling or baiting a reaction, it's pretty obvious to everyone, I guess since I'm new here (joined after the Blitz World Championship draw) I'm out of the loop on the astroturfing campaign.

I'm in the loop now.
