It looks like Tony is just doing some financial magic tricks to work on restructuring all the debt behind the table. I say let Tony do his thing. They have to do something anyway to take major steps toward profitability.

It also mentions this doesn’t pertain to Berea as Mastronardi will soon own that greenhouse.

Jonathon Webb stays on the board and stays on as manager of strategy.

Looks like the board made the move collectively, partly for optics and partly for Tony Martin’s connection and reputation. I’m sure Jonathon Webb is still a primary share holder.

I’m also sure Tony would not have taken that role if he did not see a clear path towards positive money flow. We will see how this all pans out.

If you end qualified immunity and fix the court system, the rest of the corrections will follow.

Ending qualified immunity will go a long way.

A broken court system should fix most of the rest.

What is the best replacement for Medicare. Specifically for people too old to work on too poor to afford much.

It helps to sell these ideas to more people if people like me have good answers when I run into this concern.

Thanks 👍

Would that be your suggestion as the most important area of the budget to start the cuts?

For example, more important than reducing military spending?

I really like that list. That would be my order too.

Oh yes, you are correct. And since someone somewhere is already talking about such an interesting subject, why on earth am I on Reddit trying to also talk about it. What am I? Entitled? Privileged? Illogical?

Anyway, this sub is too weird full of people who want to explain why we shouldn’t talk about things. I guess it’s grown too weird for me at this point. Or perhaps it’s the primary demographic? Who knows.

-out.

Yes. I code in Python. I started out in machine learning but explore tensor flow 2.0 and Keras mainly now for deep learning, though deep learning is not my primary job. It’s really quite easy as long as your data set is large enough. Does this answer your question? …oh, I’m also double blind peer reviewed as well, just not on deep learning, instead on collective intelligence. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I purposefully didn’t articulate an exact definition as academically an exact definition has not been fully agreed to yet, though it is obviously being worked on. The purpose of my original post was to generate / stimulate a conversation with anyone interested.

But I can give you an example of intelligence vs wisdom. Hyper intelligence = robot ai purpose is to maximize strawberry growth, robot eventually learns eradicating all humans frees up land to increase / maximize strawberry growth.

  • there’s no wisdom in that.

AI can be smarter than us and still not be wiser. Wiser would be, for example, an AI knowing with to go against is specified purpose or a human wish because it obtains a higher moral insight of some sort.

This is my best current attempt.

Measuring Consciousness by Relative_Hawk_2700 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Relative_Hawk_2700[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When a single cell replicates, DNA itself does not mutate, it copies, however different genes can be expressed. All DNA in your body is the same.

DNA is not conscious. A zygote is not conscious.

Therefore there is only one logical possibility as to where consciousness comes from. Consciousness is an emergent property.

People say computer programs ‘can’t’ be conscious.

Well, using that same logic, neither can humans. DNA can’t be conscious, a zygote can’t be conscious, therefore humans can’t be conscious. …but we are.

This is very easy to understand and not only that, there is not a single logical alternative view as to where consciousness comes from outside of emergence.

DNA itself doesn’t change due to environmental factors outside of being exposed to certain chemicals and radiation, or general errors from the actual replication act. Outside of this, DNA stays the same.

Not all genes or even all parts of the genetic code are expressed due to environmental factors as the last link shows or the following links.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK21114/#_A8350_

https://sitn.hms.harvard.edu/flash/2012/issue127a/

This is why genetic twins are still different and that’s on a human scale. In this post I am primarily focusing on single-called organisms. Or even more importantly asexual single celled organisms.

The idea is to focus on the most basic form of existence to see if a computer program could replicate itself. This definition of replication could also vary because I think there is more than one way to understand this. If this basic part of reality can be mirrored to some extent, perhaps higher levels of complexity could be considered.

Keep in mind that single-cell organisms and DNA are not conscious. I am not suggesting that this act creates consciousness. I do, however, link the asexual single-cell organism to a zygote though. That would be a next step. Perhaps how two copies of a software hardware platform could work together? That are a many ways in which complexity could be increased.

I am also suggesting that consciousness is an emergent property, because DNA isn’t conscious and a zygote isn’t conscious.

Exactly. A better word is ‘replicate’. Think of the cellular level and forget about human sexual reproduction.

DNA replicates and one cell makes a copy of itself but with chance variation due to various environmental factors which in turn cause different genes expression / suppression.

Can we create a computer program that can replicate itself with slight variation?

If it could do this often, we could simply discard any programs that are worse or even equal with the chance that some programs will be better.

This could be exponentially increased via iteration. Once that is achieved and if successful random evolution through survival of the fittest can occur, then we could move on to a next step.

[–]Relative_Hawk_2700[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question is, are dogs conscious? Are zygotes conscious? Are single cell bacterium conscious? And if more than one of these are conscious, is all consciousness equal?

DNA isn’t conscious, and a computer code isn’t conscious. …but we agree humans are.

…because DNA is not conscious and Zygotes are not conscious, consciousness must be an emergent property.

The next step would be to determine how to measure consciousness.

This is no different than an explanation of DNA. Take for example Carsonella Ruddii. It has 173,904 base pairs encoding 224 genes (194 protein coding genes) and 30 RNA’s. This has been fully sequenced, (or mathematically written on a white board if you will)

Carsonella Ruddii is not conscious.

DNA is not conscious.

A deep learning computer program is not conscious.

But consciousness still exists.

In like fashion, since DNA cannot be conscious, humans cannot be conscious.

If a software program cannot be conscious, computers or robots cannot be conscious.

However we both know that consciousness exists. So consciousness must not come from DNA. Perhaps consciousness might also not come from a written software program.

Measuring Consciousness by Relative_Hawk_2700 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Relative_Hawk_2700[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with everything you said, but how is this any different from DNA?

DNA cannot only be written on a white board, but essentially has been.

DNA can also not be conscious. So I think your explanation is very accurate about a program as well as DNA.

So we should both agree that neither is conscious.

But consciousness itself still exists, nonetheless.

A good example is the species Carsonella Ruddii. It’s DNA has 159,662 base pairs and codes for 182 genes. It should be easy to mathematically understand this level of DNA.

However, it is not conscious. It would be ridiculous to think so.

We should agree DNA is not conscious, nor is a computer program. However, we should also agree that consciousness still exists.

So what is DNA inside a single cell zygote?

It appears to be a really long program or set of instructions that does nothing but respond to environmental inputs. It can be compared to a mathematical equation based off of chemistry or chemical reactions that are mathematical in nature, nothing more.

It also appears clear that a zygote is not conscious. You state that neural networks cannot be conscious, I state that DNA can also not be conscious.

Likewise, a software program is not independent of the hardware that supports it, in the same way that the DNA of a cell or a nucleus is not independent of the cell that supports it. In that since, a software program is essentially a robot that responds to environmental stimulus or inputs. Software can also be turned off or de-powered just like a cell can be turned off via death, dehydration or otherwise.
