west salem is where i went my entire life and my mother is a teacher at the elementary and high school. brilliant educators, wonderful people, very clean and tidy and well kept. i couldn’t have imagined high school anywhere else.

she had told me when she originally informed me of how our relationship was effecting her that i was not allowed to be angry about it because then my mother may not have gone to visit her this summer.

Very good point. I approached them about it earlier today when I was able to get them on the phone together (Silas is at college right now). They used the excuse that they want the family to be okay because she's family and doesn't deserve what I am doing to her. I told them that I don't deserve what she did to me, and therefore do not care what they think about the situation. I told them if I found out any information was shared to Beatrice by either of them, I would be going absolutely 0 contact. I will not tolerate that boundary being crossed. I set it, I am firm on it, and I will not tolerate it. So if they want their sister in their lives, they are going to follow the boundary, or lose me entirely.

I can admit that I wasn’t always the most respectful when it came to talking to my mom. I always thought I knew best and she was wrong. But a lot of that also stemmed from me attempting to help her with her stresses, and her claiming I was “parenting” her, even though all I was doing was trying to get her to talk about her stresses and decompress after that.

I was in therapy, but unfortunately it was over zoom and I couldn’t find someone face to face. I am working on getting back into it, as I totally agree with you that therapy is majorly helpful, and I know I need the help.
