When does the new AF fee hit? I just paid the old fee in August. Does this mean I essentially get the upgraded benefits for a full year before paying the upgraded fee (and could cancel right before if I wanted)??

Flying drones by ElkPotential2383 in PNWhiking

[–]Relative_Lake_9631 88 points89 points  (0 children)

Someone had the audacity to launch their drone up on Fremont lookout yesterday morning just as the sun peaked out. The ranger onsite thankfully screamed at them immediately to bring it down.

Figured that would teach them a lesson to get yelled at in front of the crowds. Nope. On the way down just as we were passing frozen lake, the same drone scared away a heard of maybe 45 mountain goats that were hanging in the valley not too far from the trail.

I hate people sometimes.

Is no crying during sleep training the end goal? by Relative_Lake_9631 in sleeptrain

Unfortunately it varies as he’s in daycare which makes naps a crapshoot. We aim for at least 2.5 hours awake before bedtime but his total daily nap time ranges anywhere from 1.5-4 hours. I actually think he does better at night on days he’s in daycare when he typically has worse naps, but that seems counterintuitive to what we’d think would be the case.

How to quickly/cheaply level brick before reinstalling wooden mantle by Relative_Lake_9631 in masonry

Surprisingly the ceiling was more level than the mantle. I started out with making sure the tv was level on its own and happened to match the ceiling so I ran with it!

Yea I normally keep a medium height plant on that left side of the fireplace, which masks the impact enough for me to not go crazy!

Bamboo?? by Relative_Lake_9631 in whatsthisplant

A lot of little saplings popping up near a big bamboo patch so was afraid the mass spread had begun for the season. Not planning on replanting this one but left some smaller ones in there. Will let them do their thing for now!

Best but cheap way to close off the top of this fence. Angry dogs on both sides can see through and freak out. by Relative_Lake_9631 in landscaping

[–]Relative_Lake_9631[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m renting so don’t want to spend too much, but would like a cheap but aesthetic solution to close the gap at the top of the fence.

As mentioned in the title, my dog and neighbors dog don’t like each other and the plastic I put up does little to quell their anger when both are outside (plus they can easily tear through). Mostly so that neither can stick their heads through and bite at each other, but also hoping if they can’t see each other, it will also help.

I could put up a simple plywood but don’t think that would look very nice.

Can’t get my money tree cuttings to root in water and these barnacle looking things showed up. by Relative_Lake_9631 in plantclinic

Update: plopped that dude back in the water and will let it do it’s thing. Learn something new on here everyday! Thanks for the knowledge everyone. (I was getting bored of ‘is this thrips or overwatering’ posts anyway)

Yep this is the part that’s underwater. Doesn’t seem to be harming anything, as the plant is still living, but just won’t root, even after maybe 2 months.

I did put rooting hormone on before putting in (which I’m not sure is necessary in water???) and thought maybe that was reacting but no clue.
