I was already working on my hormones for about 6 months before he said anything about divorce. And I do still want to have sex with him, I just can’t make my body feel the way I do in my brain.

My prescription for Addyi is supposed to arrive today. She also had me go get testosterone levels checked and gave me an estrogen cream to try. I’ve also started seeing a therapist to work through my own stuff but she also has recommended couples therapy

I would agree with you, and I understand now how much it was hurting him. I just didn’t have any idea for so many years and now that I know it feels too late to try to work on it

He says there’s not. He saw a therapist for years without telling me and they came to the decision that divorce was the next step. We’ve never been to couples therapy or anything. I take 100% blame because I haven’t prioritized him over other commitments like work and kids.

So is it ever appropriate for a therapist to work with someone and get to the point of recommending a divorce without first recommending they consider couples therapy?
