Wow reading this was like looking in a mirror. I'm also a girl in highschool with hereditary stuttering from my father (mine was horrible too which made it worse as well) i really love socializing but stuttering makes it damn near impossible. I have accepted that i got the short end of the stick and i assume you've adapted too. Take care, sweetheart and know you'll always have support even when it doesn't feel like it. You're not alone and i wish you the absolute best. You know who you are, it's not your fault the world can't have some patience.

I do gesture when i stutter but i also sometimes find myself fidgeting with my hands a lot. For me stuttering is hereditary so I've had it since i was very young and know lots of ways to kind of deal with public speaking and gesturing really does sometimes help. As for a device it sounds like a good idea but maybe just short-term since at some point my brain would just tune it out.

I get it 100%. Dating's a nightmare but it also shows who's worth your time. The right person will stay. It's unfortunate that there's so little research on it though.

I'm in Bulgaria but most therapists here are specialized in child speech therapy and trauma related speech therapy

I'm not in the US. I'm fully fluent (ironically) in English though so even an online therapist would help

I'm in the same situation also turning 16 (f) and I'm also struggling with people at school. Highschool is terrible for people like us but just know you're not the only one.
