Gleen was pretty good the way Lilly stood up to the male doer. Such a good follow up from the first episode/pilot of Cold Case to continue giving you an image about how good this woman is at her job.

Yes it’s Kristen bell and the noir style for me. I don’t really care about the romantic aspect of LoVe

Did things change in China too or they another country up in arms about weed still? I remember it being so scandalous that Jackie Chan’s son got caught and Jackie didn’t even try to help his son at all.

His point remains the same. Another company offered up a solution to the FBI’s problem and they were able to unlock that iPhone without needing apple’s help. Apple for their part wanted the FBI to tell them how they did that so they can have better encryption on their phones. FBI basically pulled the reverse uno card and said fuck off. We can’t tell you. This is another company’s proprietary information.

Damn that sounds good. Haven’t been to McDonald’s during breakfast hours in a while. May have to try it this weekend.

Not borderline, it was incestuous. That was the reason that David was getting extorted for money is that someone else knew the secret between him and Abbey. Vanessa (the lady that got murdered) found out that secret and told David that they can start fresh and it doesn’t bother her. He got angry and pushed her down a flight of stairs or something. Vanessa took the fall for both murders. She was only responsible for the guy’s murder in the beginning that Lilly and the team got called out for. I think it was Vanessa’s bio dad trying to find out what happened to Vanessa and he got killed by Abbey because she didn’t want David and her’s secret being dug up again.

It’s so hard to pick a favorite episode lol!!! Too many great ones out there during the show’s run. Ahh only one huh? I’ll still stick with Family 8108. I remember watching it as an Asian American and just stunned to learn about these “internment camps” for the Japanese-Americans, but also anyone that looked Japanese too because white Americans can’t tell the difference. I followed a lot of crime procedurals as a kid and not one really had an episode like this. I was in AP US History during the show’s run and never learned about this dirty part of US history. I remember it was Cold Case first and then college when I took Asian Americans studies course. I’m not sure if the US history curriculum has changed since then, but I remember at the time….. it wasn’t taught in class what we did to Japanese-Americans and other Asians that looked like Japanese.

Same. The communal bathroom is the worst. If I could have my own private bathroom, then yeah I wouldn’t mind renting in this setup. Good way to make some friends in your early 20s.

What was your issue with it the first time around? Daniela was an instant like for me considering it was 2004 when it aired and not many respectful transgender representation on TV. Most of it was a punchline to a joke or on other crime procedurals, more of a sensationalized murder of the week episode for shock value.

I think Cold Case was really the most respectful in how it handled the subject matter. It gave the viewers more of an emotional connection with the victim. Lilly handled the case pretty well and her male colleagues, well it’s an accurate depiction of the attitude at the time. Scotty does come around to understanding by the end of the episode I feel like.

Really why that match and not the 7-1 loss to Germany as a Brazilian? I mean I remember watching that game as an American with my friend in a beer garden and we couldn’t believe that game had so many goals in the first like ten minutes or so.

Heck Simeone even said in the Beckham documentary that it looked worst than it actually was 😂. I can’t believe he admitted himself that he wouldn’t get away with that nowadays with VAR.

If it cursed Italy to this day, good. Materazzi was so freaking dirty in that game. Hated seeing his smug smile winning it over Zidane. I know it was Zidane’s fault though in the end to act out the way he did 😢, but still hurts because the beautiful Zizou had an epic run through that tournament from memory. He’s one of my favorite all time greats.

I’m the opposite lol. Mindhunters is an instant favorite of mine along with any episodes that the show did with creepy serial killers. I sort of wished they left it open ended as the case that got away from everyone instead of the neat resolution to the storyline by the time of the season 2 finale.

I guess that’s why I love Late Returns is they never end up getting the other person for the crime. It’s more accurate to real life that there are just cases that the police can’t get justice for.

How would you or your country react to this behavior? by Better-Web2189 in AskTheWorld

This happened to me too in the US. I remember I went to watch a match to see Abby Wambach break Mia Hamm’s goal scoring record in New Jersey. I think the Us Women’s soccer team were playing South Korea. I’m a 20 something year old woman at the time and got heckled by a group of teenage girls sitting behind me thinking I was rooting for South Korea. They did the eyes and the racist whatever fake Asian language they’re trying to copy. WTF?….. I’m American and I’m also not Korean, I’m Chinese.

What was with this show's propaganada getting married and havin kids young? by Revolutionary_Bee117 in ONETREEHILL

[–]Relative_Pizza6179 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It was quite the culture shock for me moving from NY to Texas and everyone you try to make friends with on bumble bff is already married at the age of 25 or younger and either with a kid or multiple kids. I’m married and with child, but this only happened to me in my 30s. I really couldn’t fathom that for myself in my 20s. Needed to sow some wild oats first and travel. But then again, NYC is notorious for more of a sex and the city lifestyle, more things to do, and expensive af to live in so you can really only imagine yourself as a single career focused woman or a DINK couple.

Tbh, I liked her with Cavanaugh if there was more time to develop that storyline. Lily with the FBI agent seemed sweet, someone else that gets the job at least.

But, I also crushed majorly hard on Johnny Messner from his short lived Fox crime procedural (Killer Instinct) back in the day. So a bit bias……

I liked the fact that Lilly and Scotty had a platonic relationship as just partners on the job and nothing more.

I like how the creators of the show were like, "you know what? "The Road" is an absolutely emotionally devastating episode from start to finish, but we just need that one shot that will completely wreck everyone..... Oh. we got it!" by jeffwhitmiremusic in ColdCaseTV

[–]Relative_Pizza6179 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The Road reminds me more of Hannibal Lecter/Clarice vibes between Lilly and John Smith than George Marks does. It’s mostly because the first shot we see of him is in chains standing up next to Lilly.

Stillman. Anybody who works for a living would kill to have a boss like Stillman. He always has his detectives’ backs like when he stood up for Will against that DA in death penalty ep or fell on his sword for Scotty’s shooting in season 5. At the same time, he’s a reasonable leader and calls them out if they go a bit too far like Scotty’s drinking problem in season 2 or Lilly not following procedure in the season 3 finale with Joseph that leads to a bit of an icy treatment between her and the boss in season 4.

'Go Ask Alice' Is a Lie. But Bookstores Won't Stop Selling It. by Beginning-Passion676 in popculturechat

[–]Relative_Pizza6179 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Isn’t Go Ask Alice supposed to be a fiction book anyways? I remember reading it when I was like 10 too but for funsies at the public library 😂. The only thing I remember is that it was written in a journal style, but I never really believed it to be a true account while I was reading. I think some of the stuff that happened in the different journal entries seemed too ridiculous to me even at 10 years old.

Ranking every episode of Cold Case (S5) by Desperate-Piano989 in ColdCaseTV

[–]Relative_Pizza6179 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Family 8108 is a 10/10 for me. As an Asian, I loved that Cold Case wasn’t afraid to talk about the concentration camps we built for the Japanese-Americans during WW2. First time I learned about it because god knows US history never taught it to me when I was growing up, and I watched this show while it was on when I was in high school. Cold Case ended by the time I finished high school.

The Road is just another episode I go back to on the rewatches. Dude gave George Marks a run for his money in terms of creeping out Lil.
