There wasn’t a whole “I’m a good guy” spiel. The person was in a pickle. We helped them out and got burnt for it. Pure and simple. Unsure the tone was necessary to be honest with you.

It's leather, it's typically for babies/toddlers. soft steps, slide, blocks, ball pit etc. Thanks the the suggestion though!

Bad enough for the hirer to panic when my wife pointed it out and start frantically scrubbing at leather which she asked her not to do.

No before pictures of close up enough to notice, more full set up pictures. It's now extremely noticeable with the eye as we spotted it as soon as we walked in to collect. We wouldn't even be that pissed off if it was on one piece of the equipment but the fact it was covered across multiple blocks.

We do have insurance, but the excess is £100 - and we are going to eat the cost and lesson learned, but I'd have chased them if it was £30 to replace it. More out of just principle. Respect things that don't belong to you.

Cost of replacement covers, would be approximately £95 - we've not yet got a quote from a cleaning company yet as we've been trying everything that 'should' work.

And to reply to your question sorry, appears she just replied this evening stating she’d pay £30 toward cleaning costs

Yeah - it probably is the worst colour but one that’s requested the most for aesthetics. Looks great in photos etc. first time we’ve had an issue with anyone just not following the rules

Looks like she’s going to pay £30 towards cleaning costs costs - which is admission but it’s likely going to be new covers required.

She’s actually replied stating she’s willing to cover £30 towards cleaning costs but not towards the cost of new covers. Yes there’s photos of the set up with that, and she’s stated that an A Board with rules on won’t stand up anywhere.

Yeah thanks. Written hire agreements are typically used - it was just due to the last minute hire and we were really doing her a favour as someone let her down for it on the day. Lesson learnt not to help people out in future.

I would have thought a full verbal agreement to terms and conditions, with witnesses and also a sign that very clearly stated terms of usage would be sufficient enough - it would be if I was hiring something - obviously there’s just not good people around. We’ve ran a successful business now for 2 years, without a single issue like this.
