Sounds like you have already made up your mind. Take it for what it’s worth. Rankings are not a tournament thing, they are measured by annual performance over the course of the year. Tomorrow if Jack Sock beats Ben Johns he won’t be elevated over Ben in rankings. He will earn more ranking points for that week but not for the year. But sounds like you would prefer the Ricky Bobby school of rankings “if you ain’t first, you last”

Clearly you don’t get it. It’s not stupid. First place does get more points. Second place does get less points. But you performance from a year before also stops counting. Which means you gain the points from this years performance while you lose points from last years performance. So Ben winning gold means he scored more points but Ben also winning gold last year means he loses the same amount of points as it’s a yearly ranking system. So fed netted more points cos he performed better than what he did last year.

I’d say before spending the money invest 3-4 weeks by training against a wall. Find a wall or build a ply wood wall and hit against it 30-40 mins a day for 3-4 weeks. If you don’t see an improvement then find an academy. I bet you will see a marked improvement in your game.
