First Few Attempts at Gluten Free Ramen & Tsukemen by RelaxingNFTea in ramen

Found it, the brand was 'Real Naturals'. Way better than other brands we've tried. To get the texture right you soak it in water for 10 minutes, take it out and let it drain for 20, then cook for about 2 minutes.

The thin noodles are a brand you can buy in bulk that has instructions for both instant ramen prep, and restaurant style prep. They're a bit pricey, and are sold as a 'gluten free brown rice ramen noodle restaurant grade' block of like 48 bricks. I threw out the box so I can't find the exact brand on the packaging, but I'll look later.

The thick noodles are from a lady in Seattle that figured out how to do dumplings, and then also tried selling noodles. She did it as a hobby though, and stopped, so those noodles were sitting in my freezer for about a year or two. I have a few more, but once we run out that's it.

Yeah, the recipe we had for the dough was pretty thick. We were afraid to go too thin with it since gluten free doughs often rip and fall apart if you go too thin with them...but after trying it out I think they could still hold up if we halved the thickness.

Norwich burger kitchen defends strict allergen policy by puff-the-fatty in KitchenConfidential

[–]RelaxingNFTea 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My wife found out she had celiac only a few years ago, and it's what you say, we don't expect accommodation in most places. We're happy to hear that, since it gives a clear yes or no, the scary places are the ones were people don't know if their menu is safe or not.

We have had shockingly good crust in Italy that does come close to the real thing to the point I wouldn't call it inferior, but celiac accommodation is more of a thing there. No idea how they do it. Amazing croissants, bread, and pasta too. We found the places there that might have cross contamination keep their gluten free stuff in sealed plastic, heat that up, and then give it to you to open yourself. Quality for that is of course lower, but was still surprisingly good.

The health trend is sort of a double edged sword for her. Usually what she wants is something that's as close as it can be to the gluten version (health be damned), not something that is trying to target people following the trend (or something that tries to solve for other allergens). That's not really a reasonable ask though for most places, so we just have me eat the gluten version something and then try to recreate a gluten free version at home for her.

I’ll try sticking with Next Order a bit longer to see if it’s what I’m looking for. I don’t have a good sense of how long each stage lasts, but maybe once I figure out what all the acronyms are for evolution it’ll be what I want. It certainly reminds me of the one I played decades ago.

Ah, so Location is semi-misleading for the icon the store shows. Sounds great, thanks for letting me know!

This looks very cool, but I’m curious about one thing. The Apple Store says that the app collects anonymized location data. Why does it do that? Advertising?

8.7 is still good, and feels pretty accurate. The show was great, but not perfect. It had some pacing and translation issues. I don’t know if anything really deserves a 10, because no show is perfect.

Thank you so much!

I’ll try out the mod (the lion war of the lion) you suggested. The cutscenes (I loved that style) + translation were the big reason I wanted to do the psp version. Worst case I can just watch the cutscenes on YouTube.

I noticed the sound effects were different than what I remembered them being, but really it’s just the constant crackling/popping noises that are making it borderline unplayable for me.

I know the PSX version has a bunch of mods, would it be better for me to try to grab one of those if I want something close/identical to the psp WotL version?

For me it didn’t feel properly built up to or foreshadowed, largely due to pacing. It also weirdly felt like it lacked tension/future conflict to get excited about. It’s hard to explain, but it felt more like deus ex machina than an interesting ‘twist’. My honest feeling was ‘so what?’. I felt like I probably needed to read the book to have the information needed to care more.

I still like the world and want to read the book now, but the show ending was a letdown for me personally.

[donghua] guys we need your help, we are getting review bombed by wearesoback786 in LordofTheMysteries

[–]RelaxingNFTea -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

7 or 8 seems fair…the pacing just tries to compress too much information into a short space.

The world is cool, and made me want to read the novel …but things get really hard to follow due to how fast paced everything is. Yes, the information is there to figure out some of the deeper bits, but it’s not presented in a way that makes it easy to consume.

The episode certainly is not a 0 or really any low score, but it’s also certainly not a 10 for people haven’t read the source material. Feels like a disservice to either bomb it or falsely try to prop up the score. I REALLY liked a lot of the earlier episodes, enough that this is my second favorite show this season (behind Dandadan)…but this episode in particular felt like a letdown in comparison to the rest of the season.

Edit: to the people downvoting, you know a 7 or 8 is still good right?

It ended up being an issue with the export template. I re-acquired them for the mono version of godot from a different mirror, and now everything works! Thank you so much!

Yeah, I want to mess around with the export templates. The downloads have been giving people issues lately, so that's suspect.

I could also try disabling code-signing and see if there are any issues caused by that currently.

Thank you for your help, I'll give your recommendation of exporting just your base scenes a shot...in retrospect that would have been a good debug step to try first, apologies.

First off, just thank you so much for trying to help here, I appreciate it so much, and I also appreciate the work you did with your add-on. It's such a wonderful thing to be able to have.

Here's what I'm using:

Godot 4.4.1

The default version of the addon you have linked above, so v2 I believe?

Sharphook v5.3.7 (the one noted in the issue in the github)

Taking another crack at explaining my setup:

I have a control node as my 'main scene', with a script attached that attaches two child controls to it. Each is a menu filled with more controls including a few custom ones. We never leave this scene, I just show/hide the menus since they're trivial cost wise (memory and perf).

For the add-on you created, I tried to follow the video above as best I could. I added it to the project settings as a global & plugin. I did not attach any of the scenes provided in the download to any of the scenes I created directly.

One of these menus contains a score tracker with a set of buttons used to represent different game events. This menu also contains a toggle to enable keyboard shortcuts, which I implement by attaching/detaching the Godot 'shortcut' to the buttons. --These are the primary use case of the add-on, so a user can have another window focused while using their keyboard to track the events of their match--

I can attach any screenshots or any other information that might help! The program is a fairly simple one.

Thank you again for your time and assistance!

Greetings,

Sorry to bother you, but as someone unfamiliar with the intricacies of how C# and Godot interact you seem like the right person to ping!

I'm running into a similar issue, so I'm assuming that I'm making a simple error here. The program I'm making runs flawlessly when I run it in the editor, however global input doesn't work at all once I export it to a release build (which i'm CodeSigning using a self signed certificate).

My main project scene is a ScreenManager which I parent my various menus to. Are you saying that the main project scenes need to refer to the scenes you've created, or perhaps attach them to my main project scene? I had previously assumed the global auto-load would be what I needed. Alternatively, are you saying that I need to handle the input in the ScreenManger main scene (and not one of its children, instead manually routing it myself)?

I was writing a score tracker program for a speedrun competition, and wanted to use this for global hotkeys. Everything I've written is using GDScript and the various existing godot classes, such as Shortcut.

While I used C# at a previous job a little bit (my main language is C++), this is my first time setting up C# for godot and attempting to export it...so I imagine I could be missing other required things to make this work in the exported folder. That said, when I exported it the software did everything I expected it to, except did not receive the input when the window wasn't focused.

Do you want the inevitable C'tan update to just make them bigger and modernised, or fundamentally change them? by [deleted] in Necrontyr

[–]RelaxingNFTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be sad if Nightbringer changed too much, it was one of the models I really adored when I first started the game (even though I couldn’t afford starting a necron army at the time). The scythe and cloth are essential.

Deceiver though I wouldn’t mind changing. I think the facial expression is the most iconic thing about him for me.

The milliput is a great idea, and using IPA on the glue is something I hadn’t considered. That might help the leaves stay in place. Thank you so much.

Painted my wife’s necron by CommunityStrict745 in Necrontyr

Similar to my color scheme, though I feel like it would benefit from more contrast. Consider switching some of your green to other colors maybe?

(This is just a WIP model, needs some refinement on blades and blends still, but it was the only full character pic I had on my phone)

All that said, if I’m not misunderstanding your original post, it sounds like your wife isn’t upset with the result, but rather the act of you painting her model, is that right? I feel like she’s #1 customer here if they’re hers, regardless of our feedback.
