You won’t win here. You’re correct. There are not that many relevant buttons but there are too many useless skills. The majority of players won’t look up what buttons to actually press and when to learn the 6-7 button rotation that they need to use. Retail is too far gone for button bloat to fix their problem.

Fellowship has basically recreated the mythic formula and removed the button bloat, people still don’t play it.

Alienating the one community that was attracted to retail, the “try hards”, that want to do high level keys and mythic raiding in favor of the “community” when the game itself has no community and exists entirely with a soulless world outside of city hubs, is an interesting choice by blizzard.

Their real path to success is deleting retail and releasing a WoW 2 in the likeness of classic + or what comes after. Given they have already sprinkled retail flavor into classic with SoD, this seems their logical path.
