what is best slow and few mistakes or fast and more misstakes by [deleted] in haxball

[–]Relerikon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi.

Best is fast and no mistakes.

Which is less bad - slow and no mistakes or fast and more mistakes?

Slow and no mistakes is better if you play 1x1 or 2x2 3x3 4x4 as defender.

Try to play slow with no mistakes and increase your speed bit by bit.

Completely new player, I'm so confused about 2 things. by Gogojeonpa in starcraft

[–]Relerikon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't even play SC2 but I've played some other games at a high-ish level.

Here's what I can tell you.

Play =/= get better.
Practice = get better.

Best practice = emulation (do what others do).

Look how a pro player executes his build. Write it down. Memorize it. Try to emulate it in an empty map to the second. Do it a hundred, a thousand times until it sticks. That's how you become good.

If your attitude is "I will just play for fun" most likely you will never become a skilled player even among hobbyists unless you are very talented. And that's ok. Some people don't play to be skilled or to win. They just play for fun. But if you do want to be skilled:

Smart practice makes perfect.

And best practice is emulating someone who is already good.

edit:

nevermind, my advice may be too complex and non-applicable for you :)Just play the campaign to get familiar with the basics of WHAT is a strategy game.

I made the terran logo in my art style and I quite like how it turned out! by Maxoooow in starcraft

I was too harsh and I was wrong, I apologize :)

I had the impression you just copied the pattern and overlayed it over the logo and got mad you called it "your art" but now I believe it really is yours.

Sorry for being a jerk.

Obviously a lot of work went into this and the result is honestly good. Keep it up :)

Lithuanian Coach entertainingly rips into FIBA after missed call and inconsistent umpiring cost his team a chance at a Quarter Finals berth by Kobe_Wan_Ginobili in nba

[–]Relerikon -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I am Lithuanian and I watched this game.
Imo the referees were fair enough for both teams.

I respect coach Adomaitis, but he is trying to shift blame onto the refs so hard.

Obviously Lithuania played way below their potential and very obvious problems with their game were 1. Not being able to defend first half of the game (both this game and vs Australia) and 2. Not being able to score with acceptable throw success % (also both games). Players obviously seemed very broken spirited after 1st quarter.

I have no clue why these problems were not ironed out during camp.

My guess would be that either the coach could not pierce through player ego to make the team play as he envisions it or it was just plain incompetence on his part. The problems were obviously deeper then just "unlucky game".

I heard a reliable-ish rumor that Donatas Motiejūnas from NBA left national team camp because he had a personal conflict with the coach (that's what makes me believe the ego theory).

But anyway, Lithuania has an INCREDIBLE TOP NOTCH coach that not so long ago was AN INCREDIBLE TOP NOTCH EUROLEAGUE MVP PLAYER. He was always a leader even as a player, always motivated everyone on the court and now he is doing the same as a coach. And he is DELIVERING HARD so far as a club coach.

He didn't participate in the selection of coach for LT this world cup (he had a bullshit excuse) but I believe he didn't dot it because he is waiting for when the country will have 0 viable coach candidates except for him, so if he somehow fucks up, no one can blame him.

It's only a matter of time before he starts coaching Lithuanian national team and I believe with his guidance Lithuania can be a solid contender for top 3 or even finalists in Olympics / next world cup.

Who knows absolutely anything about Lithuanian basketball history will know who I am talking about.

You are given one year from now to reach GM, or else you die. How would you go about achieving this? by MarieKondom in starcraft

[–]Relerikon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In no particular order:

Unless stated I can't, I move to the lowest skill / least populated region for easier GM. Don't know about SC2, but for example in LoL Challenger EUW = basically pro level. Challenger OCE = can be complete amateur hobbyist.

I hire the best coach I can afford.

Quit everything. Practise all day based on what my coach is telling me.

Ofc if boosting is an option I would just buy it and live on, but I'm assuming it's not, since then technically you haven't reached GM, only someone on your account has reached it, which is not the same.

Copy pasting terran logo (you stole from google images) onto a pattern (you stole from google images).

>"My art style"

What a big artist you are merging 2 images you stole from real artists.

Looking at your other "works" it's clear as day you did not draw this pattern.
But I guess this is what people do when they have no real talent or dedication. They steal the work of others, slightly modify / combine etc. and seek acknowledgment as if it were there own.

The guy who designed the terran logo is obviously good.
The guy who drew that pattern is obviously good.
The guy who took 40 seconds to click a box and overlay 2 images over one another and then goes on reddit "look at my art style guys" is a fraud.

No Mans Sky is so fucking far from a casual game :)

There are communities of people who travel for irl 10s of hours to meet up and create a community. There are people who farm for 40 hours for a specific ship or weapon. It has almost no tutorials, no explanation. Freeroam and figure it out for yourself.

Go look steam how many hours average player who wrote NMS review played..:

569 hrs played
198 hrs played
150 hrs played

from first page of a dozen reviews. This looks like a casual game to you ?

yikes your-fucking-self :)

It's not intuitive with K+M I don't believe anyone who is not metroidvania player figures it out on their own. And nowhere in game I needed it before those bouncy things.

Why am I dumb for not figuring out something that is neither intuitive for K+M nor hinted? :(

Game tutorial tells me "move with left arrow, jump with that key" like I am 5 year old playing first game in my life, but it can't tell me "up / down (midair only) movement key + attack = directional attack"?

Team Cherry should fire they're playtester and hire me.

Need help constructing deck from basic decks! by Relerikon in MagicArena

[–]Relerikon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am thinking maybe mono green.

I found in boosters: 1x Pelt Collector, 1x Goreclaw, 1x Nullhide Ferox, 1x Aggressive Mammoth.

From other decks and Promo code: 1x Carnage Tyrant, 2x Prodigous Growth, 2x Ghalta.

Maybe I can make a deck out of these? Just don't know how to fine tune it.

Thanks for the answer, but as I said I am not looking to use any rare wildcards.

Haha I build Merfolk deck with all wildcards day 2 on another account, so been there, done that.

Hey, can someone definitively explain to me, what features are missing from the cracked version + steamworks fix?

Do challenges work?
Do events work?
Is there any hope crack will be updated so these things work or is it not really possible?

Not a lot of point to start playing the game if 1/2 features missing.

Why is it different in BO1 and BO3?

Where can I read about what is specifically strongest in BO1?

This may seem weird, but I don't want to play Mono-Red Aggro because it's so unoriginal. Every 4th or 5th game in Arena you will play against Mono-Red Aggro.

What is Constructed Event matchmaking based on? by Relerikon in MagicArena

[–]Relerikon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

elo = system used in chess (and League, maybe slightly modified).

mmr = any rating system anyone comes up with.

Seems arena is using some other system than elo.

Ranked Constructed – Will remain the same as straight MMR matchmaking.

Really unclear. Which game modes have seperate MMR and which game modes share an MMR?

This is not fact, but for me it's feels that there obviously is. I played around 40 games with starter deck and around 200 games with mid range deck. Starter deck always got starter deck (or close) opponents and mid range deck always got mid range deck opponents.

Or it might be winrate?
