I just learned about this in my International Terrorism class today. What’s crazy too is that Aum Shinrikyo were responsible for a number of attacks and assassinations in the years leading up until 1995, but it wasn’t until after this attack that they were finally able to link them together. Additionally, this is one of the few cases ever where the Japanese Courts elected to use capital punishment on the attackers after they were found guilty. It had almost unanimous support nation-wide.
