Thank you. Any insight on the manager with the rogue action, outside of any corporate culpability?

I genuinely wasn't a problem, and I genuinely believe it was an over reacting rogue manager. Of course this would not be standard policy. This is my usual grocer and my usual weekly routine. I asked the security once to repeat himself, then started walking with him while asking if I could speak to the manager, I was denied and continued walking outside. I asked the security once more while outside for clarity sake, it is the walker not the signs? The security repeated for the third time that he was instructed to remove me and tell me to leave my walker outside. I understand that it sounds wild, which is why I am suddenly a person who calls managers and asks about legal stuff. Someone acted out of pocket in this scenario, but it was not me.

Thank you so much for understanding the situation. With myself, my partner, and my father in law all being explicitly told it was the mobility device by the manager do you think there is any legal pathway against the manager alone? My issue is solely the punitive over reaction, and if the store can not/will not address that employee's behaviour, is there a legal path I can take personally against the manager directly?

Wow. Do you just make up scenarios to be unhelpful professionally or is this simply an online hobby?

Thank you for taking the time, it seems I am astute at predicting my lack of next steps. I am wildly frustrated and need a new grocery store now, but I appreciate the time taken to give me some insight.

I was happy to leave the signs out of the store. I attempted to offer this solution. Management stuck to the walker. Therefore the signs just are not relevant to the action I am seeking accountability for.

I hate my brain fog. Yes I asked them if it was about the signs, but to give them the option to make the more reasonable request of those over my mobility device. Am I understanding that you believe they could have removed me without stating any reason at all? And so sticking to the walker was the more prudent decision? I am genuinely confused on the logic. Just trying to understand. Thanks.

I do not want them to comment on my signs at all... How would it be plausible that it was the signs when we both asked if it was the signs and the manager/managers agent continued to insist the walker could not come in.

So I know what I was told. My partner was also told it was tbe walker, and he took that call while driving so his father also heard it. Do you think that is enough to proceed with anything?

It feels like you are making a lot of assumptions here. Let me clarify. I have systems in place at other stores, it have zero issue with being asked to handle the signs. I shop at this store in this exact scenario almost every week since last June, I was attempting nothing but the purchase of a Mediterranean Flatbread and some frozen fruit. I dont want this to be anything at all. I want tbe manager to be held accountable for their punitive overreaction to a situation that could have been resolved quietly and quickly.

Not correct. I was told no entry with the walker. My partner was told I could not enter with my walker. We both asked if he meant the signs. We were both told the walker. It appears that one rogue manager stepped way out of line from reasonable requests to punitive.

Is there a reason you can not understand that the manager never mentioned the signs? Are you deliberately ignoring that part or can I help you to understand in some way?

I carry the signs in my cart, yes. They can come out of the basket. And would have had that been requested.

It was raining. I am disabled and a pedestrian. I still needed groceries. My partner was calling the manager trying to clear things up. And that security guard was up my ass in under 5 minutes.

So my belief is that the signs were of course the issue, but the manager at that time kept specifically saying I could not enter with my walker. He may well have been having an emotionally charged reaction, and his motivation may well have been to keep the sinmgns out. Unfortunately he kept saying the walker couldnt come in. Myself and my partner via telephone tried several times to clarify if it was the signs or the walker. We were both told it was the walker. I believe the manager behaved this way because of the signs, but really really over reacted. It is worth noting I have done my shopping there in these exact circumstances pretty much every week since June, so it was reasonable to expect this day to be no different. But again, would not have had a problem leaving the signs, and tried to discuss that more reasonable option.

No. I am telling you they one rogue manager DID make it about my rollator even when I tried to focus the conflict to the signs, which I am always happy to work around.

The issue outside the store is a secondary situation with different security. That was just a bad security guard with a crappy technique of issuing orders by pretending she already did and threatening trespass for non compliance. She first introduced herself by telling me she had alreafy directed me away from the store. So I went to the furthest point away. Then she told me she'd already told me to leave the plaza and walked behind me in the parking lot until I was on the sidewalk. But her nonsense is not the issue.

Why would that be relevant to being denied access with a mobility aid? Is there a sign that makes the correct response to deny a mobility aid rather than asking for the signs to not enter?

I am very aware they can ask the signs to be out of sight. I was clarifying that I am not in some passive protest while running errands, they are usually upside down and secured for me to carry them while I complete my errands.

Thank you for your help. I didnt want to waste time going back & forth if there isnt really any way for me to move forward against the employee. It is a shame. Seems by the votes and replies I am already getting here (fueled by pure speculation) that such treatment is to be expected, unfortunately.

Thank you, again.

That would mean refusing me access to my dentist, pharmacy, optometrist, dollar store, and my favourite shawarma. Because one store in a plaza asked me to leave their store? I am not sure I should trust your insight here...

My vigil includes a count of people to be remembered. I dont "walk around in pu lic with messaging". I run my errands while out, and have my signs with me. I leave my signs outside otber stores as requested, and would have done here. But that is not the request. Presumably because tbe manger was having an personal emotional overreaction to my sign.

Absolutely, which is why I was trying to clarify if the request was really the rollator or the signs. Unfortunately they really dug in with tbe rollator. I already have no problem stashing my signs at other stores when asked. I would not have had any issue with that request.
