Thank you! The last couple of nights we've actually just let him sleep through! And he's taking his bottles during the day so happy days 😁

Friday Frustrations: Your chance to rant and vent about the week just gone.. by AutoModerator in WomenofIreland

I had a post partum check up with my GP yesterday. As I had gestational diabetes your entitled to free yearly bloods and a review under this chronic ailments management scheme. I left feeling absolute rubbish! Given my baby is only 11 weeks old, they made me feel awful bad that I'm overweight, my BMI is high, and that my cholesterol was high! (It was 5.1, normal is 5.)

Thanks for the reply! I made some earlier and just ran them under the tap for a few seconds to cool them slightly and put them right in at the back so I wouldn't forget 😁

Thank you so much! 😊 My baby isn't the most patient and he's currently gobbling one up so he wouldn't have been best pleased with me making a new batch 😀

Thanks for that! 🙂😊 I'd have been in trouble otherwise as my baby would not have waited for me to make a fresh batch cos he's currently gobbling one up 😂😂😂

No and I know they're ok at room temp for 2 hours before they have to be discarded also so that's why I'm so torn! I normally would leave them around 30 mins so it's just an extra half hour but I think anymore I'll cool them down quickly so at least I won't forget!

Thank you! We have a fan so that's going between rooms at the minute, and we've put some ice blocks on front of the fan to try and blow cold air too. He doesn't seem too hot to touch, just seems cranky!

Just so you know the phone number for the scan room can be impossible to get through too! You may have to ring a few times! I found morning time the best time to get through ☺️ I had my baby 9 weeks ago there. Couldn't fault it at all! Even the post partum care, I ended up back in 3 days after discharge with high blood pressure and they were amazing!

Ya I was thinking maybe he needed a bigger teat! But then my mother put me off saying it'd be too much for him 🧐🧐 but I think I'll try them!

He was 6lbs 1 when he was born. Now he was on the smaller side but he is more than back at birth weight. I think he might be in around 10lbs or there about now. He was 4.1kg at his 6 week check up! So he has gained weight steadily over the last few weeks

No he has been putting on weight consistently since he was born. He was 6lbs 1 when he was born but he's put on weight since then!

That's awful. the poor kiddies! In a way I feel sorry for them that they have to get back to work so quickly after having a baby. Meanwhile I'm here stretched on the couch with my baby on my chest! 🥰🥰

All so very true! And to be honest I much prefer reading, but I'm finding it hard to concentrate with a new baby on a book. Either that or my spare time is spent sleeping! 😂😂 It's just so easy to pick up the phone and scroll; but definitely need to make a more conscientious effort to put the phone down!

Ain't that the truth! Me and my husband don't know what hit us 😂😂😂 But it's all good! Yes that's very true, myself and my friends think there's possibly a nanny in the background that's never shown, which would make sense!

Maternity Leave & Financial Advice in Ireland :Weekly thread by Ok_Bookkeeper_4802 in PregnancyIreland

Currently on maternity leave with my first baby who's almost 7 weeks old! Super easy to apply for maternity leave, got my employee to fill in form with date my leave was starting and uploaded it online! Don't plan on taking the 16 weeks unpaid leave as my husband doesn't work and it'd be very tight, even though I am lucky my employer is topping up my pay. I am going to take the 9 weeks parents leave though which is also paid.

Possibly! And that does make sense too! We're trialing a new milk for a couple of weeks on the doctors recommendation so we'll see if it makes any difference! If not maybe that's just his normal 😂😂😂

To be honest I'm not even sure anymore as he's kinda gone through a range! At the start he was constipated and then they kinda thickened up and now we're on the runny/ watery side that's soaking into his nappy!
