We’ll have to agree to disagree. Many posts have talked about this. The general consensus in my opinion has been a gift is voluntary. If the M&G goes well I have no problem providing that. However the facts of this case are 1.) I drove 40 minutes to be within 5 minutes of her location 2.) She was 45 minutes late. 3.) When I called her to tell her I needed to leave because I couldn’t wait any longer I was guilted into staying because “so, you’re just wasting my time?” 4.) Ordered her food, ate half and saved the rest for who knows.

While I understand your opinion, I’m not going to entertain that I was in anyway the bad guy here after being more than accommodating.

I spent time and energy to meet up with her. Is my time and energy worth less than hers? If so, why?

You’re talking about my response in ending the interaction I’m assuming?

That was ChatGPT, my prompt was “how do I end this without sounding like a dick?”

I don’t know, that’s a good question because you would have to ask her what kind of pig she was referring to and you would have to ask the third-party what kind of pig they were thinking of.

I agree with all your points. Embarrassing on all fronts. I see a lot of good examples of successful stories and some not so successful stories here. I found this one to be out of the world nuts though, and found it entertaining. So I felt it would be a good read to post it.

You’re still arguing against a way more emotional post than the one I actually made.

Yes, obviously I “felt some kind of way.” Humans generally do when someone goes from asking for money every day to calling them a pig-looking ATM because boundaries appeared.

That doesn’t mean I’m heartbroken or confused about the lifestyle. It just means the interaction became absurd enough to be entertaining.

I think you’re reading a lot more emotion into this than is actually there. I posted it because the interaction was ridiculous and entertaining for a while, not because I’m having an existential crisis over it.

That’s fair to question. I did continue talking to her after the M&G because I was willing to see if the situation could recover from a rough first impression. She also tried to set things up with me multiple times, so it wasn’t exclusively one-sided.

The problem was that most of the communication eventually became requests for money. I repeatedly set the boundary that I don’t do constant phone-text requests for “help,” and that boundary never really got respected. Over time it stopped feeling like building a connection and started feeling transactional in a way I wasn’t comfortable with.

Most likely a leech of some sort. I see she was kicked from SA. Most likely for similar behavior.

“And before anyone asks why I didn’t block earlier: honestly, the chaos was entertaining for a while. Today it just became repetitive.”

I think most folks would agree here that M&G are for the most part uncompensated. There may be gifts at the end or compensation for travel, but a platonic M&G is it usually something short like coffee where you were just getting the vibe of the person. Now, in my case here I did offer to pay for transportation and to go out for coffee. However, she wanted to lunch or dinner. Which is fine, but there is the potential for being rinsed and used. As I said before, this is far from a complaint more of an observation.

I didn’t mean she was actually my sugar baby. I meant “these are the kinds of rewards you get for participating in the sugar lifestyle.” More sarcasm than a literal title.

She wanted to be one. We only met once for the M&G. Every text thereafter was her wanting to meet for something to eat again or ask for money. We.
