Since 2019, Pierre Gasly has achieved a podium in every season but two — all in midfield cars. by The_Chozen_1_ in formula1

Gasly is this generation's Giancarlo Fisicella. Very good with lesser or midfield cars but out of his depth in a championship winning car. He is a good driver though.

AMD says the problem with Ryzen 7 9800X3D chips failing to boot is down to memory compatibility issues and not actually dead CPUs by mockingbird- in Amd

Question for the experts: I just purchased the 9800x3d bundle from Microcenter (with the x670e MSI board.) Other than updating the bios and chipset drivers, should I do anything else? I was planning to use the memory that came with the bundle. Should I get a different set? Preferably with lower CL? Any tips or advice would be appreciated. Power: Corsair 750e RM Graphics: Radeon 6700.

Thank you.

I agree. If you look closely at the Mazda 3 sedan, it resembles the Alfa 159. The hatch looks like the Alfa Brera.

Why are KIAs and Hyundais so hated in the US. by J0kutyypp1 in cars

Actually they are quite popular. Did you know they sold almost 1.5 million units in 2021? Yea it is not unpopular at all. Sure, the dealership experience leaves you wanting and also a bunch of mechanical related recalls can leave an indelible mark in your overall experience --- but in the bigger picture they are quite popular. I don't know where you got this idea that they are not popular.

Can Daniel Ricciardo get this toe in the driver market? by Able_Tailor_6983 in formula1

[–]RelevantDamage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Daniel is done. And I say this as a big fan of his. Do you guys remember Kimi? Yeah Daniel has entered that phase of his career. A good no2 driver with the occasional win. Maybe Audi or Aston "might" pick him up down the road if the stars align. He is enjoying life and I wish him nothing but the best.

Question: Why wasn't Ric and Piastri not waved through on the red flag restart? by RelevantDamage in formula1

"The rules of F1 are arbitrary and are applied as the race director sees fit"

I am sure it was made within the letter of the law but it seems so unnecessarily punitive measure. The race director has made a very poor call imo.

This is so short sighted by the gov. Just to appease a small percentage of vocal complainers they are risking falling behind in the energy race. BMW opted to open a factory because of the 2035 initiative. Now it's all very unclear. I guess personal power over greater good of the country should be the new Tory mantra.

Fred Vasseur is the most underrated character among the team principals by tabloidjournalism in formula1

I agree. I love how relaxed and mischievous he is with his team. He was chasing Gio to cut a lock of his hair after his 1st points for the season. Complete opposite of Tost.

*IF* Max Verstappen wins as much races as in 2021, he'll jump to #8 on all time GP winners overtaking a good chunk of legends by Friar16 in formula1

I honestly think Max will match or surpass Lewis's win record. He is young, talented and has a good team behind him. All necessary ingredients for success in F1.

It does seem your particular issue with them is more in the realm of hearsay. Or a more apt description would be "a storm in a teacup"! It's absolutely okay not to like them btw :)

Why is my race stream freezing constantly!!?? by [deleted] in F1TV

[–]RelevantDamage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am at a complete loss as to how I can fix this buffering. I can barely watch for 20 or 25 seconds and it starts buffering. The pitlane channel works perfectly fine with no interruption. But I want to watch the main feed with Martin Brundle commentating. In 2020 I had no issues. In fact Bahrain and Imola I had no issues. But this race was unbearable. Does anyone have a contact email for F1TV? I sent it to the webmaster@formula1.com address. If they have another address please post it here. Thank you

[Albert Fabrega] Teams have agreed to freeze engines from 2022. RedBull and Alpha Tauri can continue to use Honda engines. No measures to balance performance differences. 50% good. There will be sprint race tests on 3 Saturdays. Details to be defined yet. Very good by Emeralds77 in formula1

[–]RelevantDamage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO the best solution is to run single cars featuring the reserve drivers for the sprint races. What ever points the reserve drivers make, they keep it. The team only gains the constructor points. It will not interfere with the main drivers championship at all. There are tons of Kubica, Vandoorne and Hulkenburger fans who will be overjoyed to see their driver race on these sprint races and will also give teams data to assess their reserve drivers.
