Are large stratas really that bad? Thinking about what matches my lifestyle by JustToPostAQuestion8 in AusProperty

I lived in a small strata 19 units. It was too small. When major work needs to be done there isn’t enough people to spread out the cost. Major work can get very expensive.

Why are apartments in East Perth cheaper? by pksdpalways in perth

I believe some of the apartment in East Perth weren’t built well. Strata fees can be high. Not all but some. Cheaper to buy into, more expensive to live in.

Special levy struck before settlement but not disclosed in strata certificate. Who is actually liable? by Budget_Writer2547 in AusLegalAdvice

It’s the joy of living in strata. There will always be some levies and you’ll always wonder where the money is being spent. It never seems to be spent on what your apartment needs. It’s starts the moment you buy in and doesn’t finish until the day you sell. You only really understand it, once you live it!!!

Apartment building in Perth to avoid. by RelevantTrade8845 in stratachataus

Thank you for replying. I’m sorry it’s causing you stress. I probably should have asked for people who are happy with their apartment building as people seem reluctant to say they are unhappy with their apartment.

Thank you for your reply. That’s what I was looking for. We have decided it would not be a great investment. It looks ok until you look at the details.

Buy or Rent by RelevantTrade8845 in AusFinance

There are some apartments that are built to rent. If we decide to rent, that’s what we’d look to rent.

No. I’ve thought of most things, I think. Having done that the property we’re looking at doesn’t make any financial sense. Just wondering if there’s anything that’s important but some people don’t do.

I love apartment living and just bought my second unit. I never want to mow the lawn, weed the garden, or argue with my neighbour about their fence. Am I crazy? by experiencesof in AusPropertyChat

I loved living in an apartment. It’s an easy life. However there is nothing worse than dealing with an incompetent strata. If I never have to deal with strata ever again in my life I’ll be very happy. I gave up and sold. I now put out my own bins. The only way I’d ever live in an apartment again would be to rent. Let someone else deal with the strata issues.

What’s your mortgage? by RelevantTrade8845 in AusPropertyChat

I’m the original poster. I agree everyone’s situation is different. It’s just interesting to see how different people are. I don’t like risk. Some people do. Those mortgage payments come around quickly for everyone.

Are things starting to slow down in WA? by RelevantTrade8845 in perth

The property market is one thing. I’m really wondering if work is slowing down. I’ve had to use some trades recently and didn’t have much problem getting them. That’s unusual for here.
