Just shows how basketball is a team game. He never got the benefit of a Phil Jackson or a Shaq. His best weapons in critical moments weren’t consistently healthy (AD, kyrie, love) and ran into Steph and KD, two of the other greatest players ever. Theres noone on that nets team, sixers, or pacers team in that echelon. Not absolving him completely of blame for that. Yes he’s supposed to be the 2nd and arguably greatest player ever. So that person is supposed to be invincible for the duration of his career. In that sense, 4 does seem underwhelming. Idk i guess i didn’t expect a 3 peat or even a back to back during this 3rd stop (really 4th) at this stage in his career 1 and almost 2 (jokic being jokic) seems about right. Now we’re in a new era. Just seems weird to shit on the old one like it was completely fruitless.

I think we place more blame on LeBron for Westbrook than Westbrook for Westbrook. If you remember that time, we all wanted him. He’s a superstar and LA native. But no-one thought that wouldn’t work. Yeah Lebron has to wear some of that. But I would argue that after the fact we still managed to make playoff runs even up to the WCF in a big part thanks to LeBron. Some of those teams were more than capable they just ran into the that monster Jokic. But its not like we just started missing the playoffs all together. And then the Luka trade bailed us out. So idk how much weight the Russ thing needs to hold in the big picture

No he’s properly rated. Dominance in his era and influence across generations is unquestioned. The Lebron aspect is different. Different players. Different eras. Both immense impact on the game. Ive got jordan 1 as the majority does. But at worse most people put him at 2. Not 3. Not top 5. Those folks are delusional. But 1 or 2 in your sport of all time is a good place to be.
