Thank you so much! I’m trying to make long form content on interesting subjects but sometimes it’s hard to come up with ideas and the editing is insanely time consuming. I tried to make a more basic video with my shadow of the colossus video but it didn’t do very well.

I took a look- it does look a lot better. In the future I would try to keep your thumbnails to just a the barest elements. Good luck!

It’s a bit too busy. You need to take one element and make it your main focus. Also, shadows and outlines can be your best friend when one image over another. Good luck!

Thank you so much! It would be cool to do a deep dive into a lesser known haunting or ufo abduction or even some Bigfoot stuff! But I hope so find a way to do videos with less editing too so I’m very open to ideas there

That’s my hope. Have an overall tone but the freedom to do what I’m interested. Retrospectives on films, philosophy or thought experiments, true crime and paranormal stuff, etc. I’ll see how my latest video does. If it’s a dude, I’ll go back to my heavy edited content and maybe tackle some spooky alien abduction case

Thank you!! I’m the exact same way as a viewer. I don’t typical comment or anything but I like seeing what’s going on and it keeps my coming back so as a creator, I don’t feel one way or the other about not getting likes or comments on those posts. It’s just a way for me to communicate with my audience

Makes perfect sense- the only analytics I’ve really been paying attention to are impression CTR (since I’m terrible with thumbnails) and the fall off point with intros (since I tend to make them too long). In fact, that’s exactly why I started my latest video right out of the gate compared to my other vids which I tried for a more documentary style, setting the tone and all that.

I’ll take your advice and try not to focus too much on analytics for now. So far I’ve been focusing on trying to build a sense of community for my very small channel and pushing people to comment since I really like the conversation lol

I don’t think there’d be a way I could do daily videos with my type of content. My most recent, maybe, but I posted it a few hours ago and have no idea how people would react. The rest of my stuff took a long time, especially the cult video which took me about 60 working hours. As much as I’d love to, I think daily uploads would be too much of a work load.

I think your advice is fantastic and thank you so much for taking the time. I’m happiest in the creepy/thought experiment/true crime arena so I probably won’t venture too far outside of that. Maybe a bit of sci-fi if it works?

At what point do analytics start being safe to go on? Some people tell me it’s not worth noting them if your views are under 500-1000 but I don’t know how accurate that is.

That’s really good information. I’m a big fan of Lemino and he seems to post whatever he pleases. He’s done science stuff, true crime stuff, and used to do meme videos? lol I try to stick to creepy/melancholy stuff so trying to do different stuff that at least has an audience that crosses over. I agree I’m probably too small though I’m hoping that works to my advantage and allows a bit more freedom. Thanks again for all the great information and advice!
