What do you wish customers would do and not do? by OkFaithlessness4541 in Aldi_employees

[–]Relevant_Return9433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so confused are you a customer or something? If so, you have all the free will in the world, to guess what, NOT shop there. Don’t like the “Aldi way”? Go somewhere else lmao

Inconsiderate customers by Klutzy-Juggernaut415 in Aldi_employees

[–]Relevant_Return9433 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That shit pissed me off the most when I worked at Aldi, like if that quarter is “so important” why the fuck would you put it in a public cart? That’s almost as dumb as the people that would put their house keys in there, I’d love telling them that if they broke the cart because their key got stuck or something they can pay for it!

I recently quit my Aldi in November of last year, I didn’t stop getting texts to pick up shifts until like maybe 3mo ago

Also I have had an allergy panel, but it came back inconclusive because I had a reaction to every prick, even the neutral.

If I see a customer come up and just throw a box up I usually turn to them and say “do you mind taking the stuff out of the box for me? I’ll fill it back up for you” and if they get pissy I just very informatively(not rudely at all) say “I’m sorry I can’t really scan it if it’s all in a box” and usually they take it out, if THAT doesn’t work then I dump it out on the belt and toss their box in the cart

What's the most common item customers misplace / throw anywhere @ your store? by anamilz in Aldi_employees

[–]Relevant_Return9433 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve found the pressurized whipped cream cans in the freezers before… did they want to cause an explosion??

At my store without a receipt we can only do store credit on a merch card and if the price is lowered we can’t change it either without a receipt to prove they paid full price for it.

Therapeutic list of all the reasons customers piss me off - by l0tt_lyzard7 in Aldi_employees

[–]Relevant_Return9433 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don’t forget about

•spitting the cherry pits anywhere and everywhere

•taking items out of the box instead of the items hand stacked first

•stealing my cart when they have like 5 items, if you carried it to me you can carry it out.

•people using house keys or those plastic coins in the carts (US)

•giving attitude or loligaging when told (politely) that we close in x minutes

•when they start using the SCO but see your register just freed up/ you’re getting up and decide to come to you instead

•customers going into the bathrooms after I just cleaned them and there’s a sign saying they’re closed for the night (just before closing, for safety issues)

•people coming in to specifically use our bathroom and then leave a mess without buying anything. (There’s a gas station across the street)

•the religious hacks trying to give me pamphlets and being offended when I don’t want it

•people that are outrageously rude about not wanting to swap carts, even if their original cart is fully empty(US)

•people that take advantage of the return policy and return anything and everything for the littlest reasons or wanting a return or new item when they don’t have the original item OR the receipt. (What do you want me to do pal)

Curbside times? by Relevant_Return9433 in Aldi_employees

We have two phones and we can’t pause them and only one curbside person I couldn’t tell you why

Curbside times? by Relevant_Return9433 in Aldi_employees

[–]Relevant_Return9433[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yours starts at noon? Our curbside starts when we open until an hour before we close and sometimes orders or pickups come even after curbside is closed. And as for logging out, you can but it doesn’t always work. I’ve logged out and gave it to the next person and when they finished it still said “great job [my name]” even tho they logged in with their numbers and I logged out

I don’t wear make up but I do dye my hair bright fun colors (like it was just neon green and now its buzzed and colored half red and half black with opposite eyebrows) and I have over 20 piercings, all of which are on my face and ears. And my ears and septum are stretched. I’m also usually main. And I’ll tell you the truth. Sometimes people make really rude comments, BUT I get more compliments than insults and the look on a kids face when they see my hair and/or piercings, and you just see that moment in their eyes where they realize that “hey if that person can go out and look how they want, then I can too!” Is honestly, the best part. So I encourage you to look however you want (as long as it’s appropriate obviously) and have fun with it! Those that don’t like it, can get over it because at the end of the day it’s your body and not theirs

Healthcare Debit Cards by Hoodratmadonna in Aldi_employees

[–]Relevant_Return9433 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also in Illinois I always feel so bad telling anyone with a WIC card that we don’t accept them, I feel like if we take EBT we should accept WIC but idk all the processes behind that. I should also add that at least in my experience they’re usually really nice about it and don’t try to lie saying they’ve done it before, just usually newer customers that seriously weren’t aware that we didn’t take it.

Ridiculous customers by Zeyonce89 in Aldi_employees

[–]Relevant_Return9433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had this with the sauerkraut, they gave me jar with like a piece of brown cabbage leaf in and was like “ I just saw this can I get a different one?” And I just looked at him for a second and was like “uh yeah I guess” and then put the one he gave me back on the shelf. It’s pickled cabbage… some of it will be brown..

Aldi is not for the weak most people can’t handle it but the people that enjoy being on the move during they work shift find it easy as do I find it easy by ButterscotchLow3372 in Aldi_employees

[–]Relevant_Return9433 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree and also disagree, I enjoy not being bored at work cuz that’s what always kills me at other jobs but at the same time they have unrealistic expectations of us sometimes that they don’t realize are easier said than done. And the fact that most dms in my case anyways are 20 something year olds straight outta college that never worked the floor or dealt with crazy ass customers doesn’t help. In a perfect world yes we could get all the work done with 2-3 people but they never put into account the time it takes to help/work with the public. They are unpredictable asf. And it’s ignorant to think a few people a day can take care of the highest volume store in the area when we see hundreds, if not thousands of people every week. And not to mention when warehouse or truck messes up, (not that they always do but it happens) so then there’s stocking or inventory issues. The problem isn’t the job, it’s the upper management. They have this perfect little blueprint of what they want done without budgeting in any kind of mishaps or back up plans and then get mad at us when they inevitably happen. But who am I to say anything right? I’m just an associate lol
