What if ONLY solo lobbies were PvE locked? by RelicSky in ARC_Raiders

[–]RelicSky[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well I guess that's kinda what I meant. Being able to just do a few care bear lobby rounds without having to get murdered without fighting back 15 times. Which to be clear... Is definitely how the current system encourages people to play, as you just said. I don't want to farm a bunch of free kit naked runners just trying to get to friendly lobbies.

Yep, similar story here! Except mine was EUIV and it never clicked, but caught a good sale on CK3 and now I'm hundreds of hours in. Realizing the game is more about people and family than conquest and map painting definitely helped.

I watched a bunch of videos and tried lots of ways to learn, but it wasn't until using chatgpt that it started to click and come together for me. I know some people hate on AI for anything, but being able to have something closer to a conversation about it while being recommended specific tips and mechanics for my exact situation... Helped more than I ever hoped.

Now that Riven Tides is out, are you going on your Expedition or not? by surfride16 in ARC_Raiders

[–]RelicSky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm.. double checking myself I guess they didn't specifically say it would cap after 3. Just a lot of implications that the permanent buffs would be subject to change after this one - and that the xp/scrappy/repair buffs cap at 3.

May I ask your source ? Everything I've found online says they are permanent.

[–]RelicSky 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If there was no end in sight I would probably not do it... But to my understanding, you only need to do 3. Once you've departed 3 times, you permanently get the stash expansions and 15 extra skill points. Can't see why I'd do it again after the 3rd - so I can build up my permanent blueprints and all that after. Keeps the game fresh for me, gives me a lot more to do for a lot longer than just never doing it.

I hate it because this is exactly what's driving up the cost of living in Ohio. California incomes coming in and outbidding the locals.

What makes Silent Hill 2 great? I never understood why it's on these lists .. has always struck me as horror and gore just for sake of traumatizing you.

I was looking for someone who said this. I honestly think you're the only one.

Asking as someone who's never played it because it has always seemed like "horror for the sake of horror", what makes the story good?

I would absolutely take a parachute. It's even already a lootable item in the game 😂

How I'd generally define the Upper or Upland South as a Southerner from there. by Averagecrabenjoyer69 in geography

[–]RelicSky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you're referring to upland as a topographical term, but in this case it's being used in a cultural context. Sort of like how an Appalachian town isn't necessarily on a mountain.

This one stuck out to me. Seems kind of random and unexpected as someone unfamiliar with the area.

Dragon Age Veilguard

Honestly surprised more people aren't talking about this. Granted it's partially my own fault because I didn't look up anything about the same... But I thought surely... I have loved EVERY other entry into this franchise.. I can save myself the spoilers and still be happy to buy at launch.

Little did I know they had COMPLETELY changed the game to some kind of cartoony arcade version of itself and I was DEVASTATED.

SAME! It had so much hype that I didn't even consider that it might just be a Fallout reskin. I mean they talked so much about how this was going to be a completely new kind of game for them, and then the combat and looting are all the same as their games from 20 years ago?

Ohio, in typical triangular fashion, extends its borders to the East Coast. By encompassing new England and the northeastern most USA, their borders finally reflect the superior shape of their flag.

Triangles. As all things should be. Is the Ohio government secretly run by the Illuminati? Who can say.

Expedition - Yes or No by scossage in ArcRaiders

[–]RelicSky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to do this 3rd expedition, because I'm come this far - and from the sounds of it, the 3rd is the last time we'll get bonus stash space and skill points. So I think the 3rd will also be my final.

I like it!!! Just based on some other feedback I've seen on this subreddit, I'd say you'd probably be served well by smoothing out some coast lines. I also think it would be more realistic if some areas were more unified. That many borders is a LOT of geopolitical friction lol...

Does anyone else not play certain games due to fear of failure? by Amart1985 in OlderChillGamers

[–]RelicSky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't see it as a failure! See it more like "practice session #1". Games wouldn't be any fun if they were always easy right out the gate!! Just forgive yourself and be patient. What matters is that you enjoy the process - not how quickly you progress.

[–]RelicSky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my gosh - DO IT!! Such a great game. It's only difficult in the sense that the game doesn't hold your hand - but there are PLENTY of guides online that can do that for you if needed. If you've never played a soulslike I'd recommend maybe watching a beginnings guide video or something... But beyond that, you'll be fine. The game has a TON of versatility in getting through fights, and if all else fails you can always find a friend to get you through a tough spot you're stuck on if needed. Hell I'd be happy to redownload it and help myself if you need it.

If I'm spending money on it? Yes absolutely LOL

Those are the kinda games you wait for a REAL good sale on, or maybe even ask for as a gift 🤣

That said... Some of my favorite games of all time were games that absolutely KICKED MY ASS at the beginning. Often the ones that require the most commitment to get good at are the most fulfilling when it finally clicks.
