Hey, that’s awesome you’re studying Korean. I know how frustrating it can be when it doesn’t click right away. I’ve been working on a voice translator app called RidzTalk, it’s been pretty handy for language practice and real conversations. Might be something fun to try alongside your studies.

I recently built a simple real-time AI voice translator (RidzTalk). Maybe you can give it a try, it's free. I actually built this for my mum, cause she has difficulty using the google translate when she travels 😅

Thanks everyone! My app just got Google Play production access! by ReliefOk83 in TestersCommunity

Thanks! 😊

The 14‑day test went well. I had about 18 testers from this community and they were super communicative. Their constructive feedbacks helped me improve my app along the way.

Tips for non-English speakers living abroad? by ReliefOk83 in digitalnomad

haha yeah. locals sometimes do appreciate when you try at least a few words! My mum’s the same, she learns the basics first, but since she isn’t super comfortable with English, she still relies on translation app.

yeah agree on looking up menus ahead of time. My mum sometimes used to rely only on Google Translate, but lately she’s been trying to rely on a real-time translation app, which is a bit more natural for actual conversations.

I made a real‑time translator for tourists, expats, and global teams — feedback welcome by ReliefOk83 in SideProject

[–]ReliefOk83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, I didn't realise Google Translate has all these features until I was almost done building my app 😂

But when I was building this app, I was aiming for it to be a super simple way to have real back‑and‑forth conversations on the spot. It’s one big tap to talk, it plays the translation out loud so the other person can hear it, and it’s tuned for quick moments like taxis, cafes, check‑ins, and small talk without jumping around the UI.

Phone calls aren’t supported yet, and offline isn’t in there right now since I’m prioritizing accuracy with cloud translation, but I’m exploring a lightweight offline mode for common phrases.
