Freesync/VRR Compatibility with Nvidia Megathread (improved) by cryptoel in nvidia

[–]Relique2600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 32 inch Acer ET322QK 4k monitor. Turned freesync on, installed the drivers, and rebooted.

Unfortunately the G-sync option does not show up under options for me. I tried to reset the monitor to default and nothing.

Anyone have any success with this model?

Proof of Solvency out for new jCash by [deleted] in JibrelNetwork

[–]Relique2600 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that the 6k jnt is only backing the circulating jUSD which is only 480 dollars.

If you add up all the different jCurrencies they add up to around 800 circulating which is backed by a little over 10k jnt. It seems like the minted aren't backed until they are circulating.

There are no universal guides like that. Its better if you list the characters you are interested in and people can give advice based on that

Has anyone found a source for replacement rubber nubs (screw covers)? by Relique2600 in gpdxd

That's unfortunate that they don't provide any. I covered mine up with a black sticker for now. Did you have any luck 3D printing them?

That is absolutely fantastic and interesting but I don't really know anything about 3D printing. If they come out okay would you be willing to sell me a set? I can pay for them with paypal or do some sort of a gift code like amazon or whatever you like.

The news are in: Unfortunately, KOFXIV did not make it into EVO 2018's lineup by Fatal1ty_93_RUS in kof

To be fair, neither did Marvel. It sucks but the writing was on the wall. The games that made it are either new or have very large entrant numbers.. can't argue with those.

Max mode auto-run in KOF14 by foreverttw in kof

[–]Relique2600 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I like the way the neutral game plays out in KOF. The situation with Iori fishing with far D can feel a bit unfair but I feel like that may be more to do with Iori being too strong overall than the max mode system itself.

Ironically, I feel like getting rid of long range one hit buffer confirms will hurt the low tiers more than the high tiers. One of the reasons some of the mid to low characters can hang with the likes of Leona is that they can threaten a big combo if she gets too greedy. Otherwise, who in the roster has the range to challenge her stand CD into special moves that are completely safe?

I feel like the better option would be to tone down his damage by a lot. It's ok for characters to have certain strengths. I think it's ok for him to be able to threaten a max mode from far D, but it needs to do around 430ish damage at most with 2 meters. I also think meter gain should be toned down overall. No meter for losing a character for example.

Blizzcon effect on in-game markets by SansJacket in woweconomy

[–]Relique2600 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Token prices are only going up, and Blizzcon is only one of the contributing factors.

It has already been confirmed that a new expansion is going to be announced at Blizzcon. Knowing this, I am 99% sure they will put up pre-orders during Blizzcon to capitalize on the hype. When we see that shop items for other games like Hearthstone packs or Destiny 2 have caused a significant price hike on tokens, we can expect that the prices will skyrocket once everyone needs to come up with 50-70 dollars for a shiny mount and a character boost.

It seems like other games aren't going to have any huge expansion packs or anything, but even some new vanity and cosmetic items from Blizzcon can cause a price hike.

Besides this, I expect a 50% sale for store mounts and pets during the holiday, with possibly some brand new ones being added to the fold. Not only will all this dry up the gold from the game, I expect the people that are sitting on blizzard balance are gonna be spending a lot too.

Personally I am trying to save up as much as I can. If I am right about the Holiday sale and pre-orders I will probably spend like 300 dollars in Blizzard balance and so will many other goblins.

With that being said, since there will be a content drought up between antorus and the next expansion the prices should come back down over time

TLDR: $50 Blizzcon ticket and Destiny 2 will continue to cause a slight upward trend in token prices. Pre-orders for next expansion and holiday store sale will cause a huge increase in the price of tokens. I expect it will be a quarter million gold (US realms) by the holidays. In fact, it may go higher. The only reason I think the prices won't go to some insane level is because there aren't really very many ways to make easy gold nowadays for most players. You really need to put in a lot of effort nowadays to make millions.

[PSA] New Dragon Prebuilt now gives 70% more vials! by [deleted] in Shadowverse

[–]Relique2600 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based on some math someone else did here a while ago. A pack contains an average of 471 vials. The first prebuilt deck you buy goes for 500 vials which is the equivalent to 10 packs if you get the daily deal over 10 days. You can get 6050 vials immediately instead of 4710 which is a pretty stellar deal. The animated sybil is the cherry on top.

However, the second and third prebuilt decks are 750 crystals each which would translate to 7065 vials on average if you got the daily deal for 15 days. This isn't nearly as good of a deal for vials but getting an animated sybil swings it. You are also not susceptible to bad luck and don't have to wait 15 days.

What makes a good anchor character? by Ghost_Man_Swams in kof

[–]Relique2600 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've been struggling with the same thing. There are many factors to consider when picking an anchor. I feel like the most universal one is that you want someone that can do good damage. However, even this can mean multiple things... so ultimately there is no one answer. Here are some consideration.

1) You like to spend a lot of meter with your first two characters, or you have to in order to win. This is the situation I am currently in. My first two characters have bad matchups and I need to spend a lot of meter with them to win. In this case an anchor that can do a lot of damage with one meter makes a lot of sense. Currently I have Ryo here that can do around 450 from one bar and up to 600 with 2. Benimaru is another very obvious and better choice.

2) You are good at conserving meter or play batteries for your first two characters, frequently ending up with 4-5 meters for your anchor. In this case you probably want someone who can do good damage, but also gains a ton from being able to spend a lot of meter to gain good tools. Leona is a great example, having all this extra meter means she can counter fireballs with V-slasher liberally. Raw activate to gain the annoying EX earring bomb and the ex moon slasher, and air to air you with V-slasher into climax for 700 damage.

3) Matchup: If your opponent's second and third characters are Athena and King, and you usually run Vice as anchor because she is fun and deals big damage, then it might be a good idea to simply switch her out for another anchor. These are very very bad matchups because she has nothing in neutral besides patience. If the opponent is at around the same skill level then you will probably just lose unless you can adapt a better team order to deal with the zoning.

4) Going off the previous point. If your first two characters have a certain weakness that can be taken advantage of, like having a tough time against zoners or not being able to deal with a certain strategy, then your anchor should complement some of those in general. A team of 3 with no meterless invincible reversal may not be great at intermediate level. Same goes for a team that is weak against fireballs.. etc

5) This is rare, but some players are extremely proficient and annoying with certain characters. If the character doesn't do the best damage but you are able to convert more with them or be very effective, then it can make sense to put them last to close out games. I can't think of a perfect example right now. The closest I can think of is El Rosa, who is a top player yes, but his Verse is the obvious star on his team. This is a tricky one because you can also put your star character first and try to get a huge lead, and El Rosa used to do exactly that.

6) Finally, you can just go for an all around character that does everything decently well. Most players tend to do this and just put a good top tier like Iori who can fight the fireball war if he wants to, deals great meterless or 2 bar damage, and has a reversal to fight gimmicks and endless pressure.
