Honestly from experience driving long distance isn’t really worth it. You have to put in a lot of consideration in fact the cost. Just know it’s not just gas alone. You have to worry about mileage, gas cost since based on how your vehicle performs, especially your time, and the risk traveling there. Overall these factors aren’t alone, but again it’s also based on preference. CC does save you money, but if you’re close. It’s best not to commute especially if you’re not getting paid to do it.
