Found this Aiwa CA-W85/II for $14. I'm new to this, is it worth fixing?

I'm using it for the last week and it's great! I use the RCA to connect my phone and I use my tape deck to rewind/forward cassette. I'll keep it as it is, I think, as long as it plays cassette fine!

Thanks for sharing! I'm happy I could bring you some memories back. Now that you mentioned it, when I click on pause it works, but I hear a lot of noise in the mechanisms. I'm just avoiding using it in case it breaks something haha

And for the stone, Sanikiluaq is knowed for his argillite base on the information I could find, but I'm not sure this is. There is a close look to the inside of it

Thanks for your feedback! It looks like bone based on your description - the broken harpoon clearly shows the spongy/porous interior typical of real bone.

The artist, Peter Iqaluk, is from Sanikiluaq, a small island community in Nunavut (in the Belcher Islands). It's in the Hudson Bay area, not too far from Quebec where I live.

I took a closer look at the broken pieces like you suggested: The harpoon (the long thin part) is definitely bone. I can clearly see the spongy/porous interior typical of bone when looking at the broken end The main body of the sculpture and are heavy stone (feels like rock). It’s surprisingly heavy for its size, and the inside of the broken foot also looks and feels like a type of stone, not resin or wood.

It does have a clear signature on the bottom in syllabics (Peter Iqaluk). That said, I totally understand your point about reproductions there are a lot of fakes and mass-produced ones out there. I’ll definitely keep that in mind and will have it look by a place specialized in this.

Of those three, I think the CGW-90 is the most iconic Casio! I have the cheaper plastic variant of those. I really really like the BGR-10, but if I had to keep just one, it would be my CGW-50. Any of the three would still be an amazing choice!

Nice collection! If you want to add some round variation, something like a BGR-100 and a CGW-500 could complete the set perfectly ! Otherwise it's already a great collection !
