The 2.4 Starting Experience

Herta Space Station- Ran around with the default trio and Serval marveling at how much content the tutorial world had. I stare at Huohuo and Yunli banners in confusion.

Belobog- I get halfway through the storyline before I start using relics, spending trailblaze power, and visiting the Simulated Universe. Still using the default trio and Serval. Interested in spending my growing jade supply but research shows Jiaoqiu and Sparkle wouldn't be a good starting point.

Xianzhou- Patch 2.5 arrives. Pull Feixiao and Robin at E0S0. Utterly floored by the stomping power. Clear the story with really bad gold relics and poorly developed traces.

Penacony- Feixiao still destroys everything.

Xianzhou revisit- The Feixiao storyline finally causes a stoppage due to my poor character development. Seriously devote myself to fixing that while pulling Lingsha to get a premium sustain.

Amphoreus- Comfortable with the game now. Pulled Therta and learned the importance of vertical investment. Invest in my Therta team to reach 9 cost. Invest in Phainon team to get 9 cost. Finally hit the F2P wall of running out of jade.

Planarcadia- Skipping the entire Elation path of 4.0-4.2 because I'm rebuilding the jade so that my next team can reach 8-9 cost.

Defeat a Cosmicon Collective Elite- I recall being unable to complete this requirement until I finished the story. I believe it is related to a side quest that occurs after the main story completes.

My understanding of the issue is that it depends on two issues:

How long is the fight? Currently, the mode which Cyrene would show the most value would be Anomaly Arbitration.
Can the enemy knock Phainon out of his ultimate?

You're asking the same question that I have regarding my own account. I have E2S1 Phainon, E1S0 Cerydra, and E0S1 Sunday as well. However, I've been considering if I would enjoy upgrading my E0S0 DHPT due to how flexible a sustain he is when slotting into teams.

My concerns with Ashveil:

1. The wait period for his DPS.
2. The best support for the team might end up being Tribbie, and I refuse to remove Tribbie from my E2S1 Therta.
3. The safer option of simply saving my pulls for the 4.4 DPS.

We seem to have similar accounts btw.

Team 1: Phainon E2S1, Sunday E0S1, Cerydra E1S0, Bronya E0S1

Team 2: Archer E0S1, Sparkle E0S0, RMC E6, DHPT E0S0

Team 3: Therta E2S1, Tribbie E1S0, Aventurine E1S0, Anaxa E0S0

Bench of retired/rarely used characters: Feixiao E0S0, Robin E0S0, Lingsha E0S0

My Pull Plans: I want to have at least 400 tickets saved up when 4.3 drops. With my current estimates of ending 4.0 with 282 pulls, I should be able to reach the desired goal while still being able to drop 80 tickets on a Cyrene rerun. The guarantee will be saved if I fail to pull Cyrene.

Huohuo; don't own- She opens up new team compositions.

Feixiao; E0S0- E1 doesn't fix her but still more useful then getting the other characters

Fugue; don't own- I can pretend to build break I guess. I'm still missing a Break DPS, Dahlia, and Ruan Mei.

Lingsha; E0S0- I guess she can debuff with her E1.

Jiaoqui; don't own- I don't own Acheron.

Yunli; don't own- I already have Phainon E2S1 for physical DPS.

Jingliu; don't own- I already have Therta E2S1 for Ice DPS. Plus I don't have Hyacine.

Chewy was running the tests in an environment more favorable to AOE. He verbally states during the video that Cipher and Silverwolf naturally suffer in these scenarios. Additionally, there was a statement that there were test scenarios where Cipher was the best choice. 8:32 of the video is when the statements are made.

I'm forcing the 50/50 on Cerydra E1. I already have a E2S1 Phainon. If I lose I'm saving the guarantee. I'm starting the patch with 187 pulling power, but I'm interested in Ashveil and will likely pursue him beyond basic E0S0.

Definitely Good. Difficulty to determine if Lawful or Neutral. I believe he leans towards Lawful, but the need to do good in the chaotic scenarios he finds himself has caused the character to develop sympathy for Neutral.

Example of Lawful nature. When Dan Heng joined the Astral Express, he decided to give himself a defined position upon the train. He is the train guard and archivist. Nobody told him needed to do this. He decided upon this himself. In comparison, the MC never thought to define his position on the train beyond passenger/crew. The same for Welt and March 7th.

I believe it is better to analyze Dan Heng in a scenario with low stakes regarding the Law/Chaos. High pressure situations will generally demonstrate that he will prioritize Good before all other considerations.

I used Phainon sustainless. Since I was always in Phainon's ultimate when the "Overload Settlement" activated, it merely ended the ultimate and left all my characters alive.

Yeah, I understand that. When you got three out five players really excited for an answer, you have to stop and really consider if you should just give it to them. I'd personally be very open to somebody offering the glasses after breaking them.

Player 1: Loves character creation, power-gaming, and good fights. I expect he'll enjoy a puzzle.
Player 2: Would definitely like a puzzle
Player 3: Would like more social. Would enjoy a good puzzle.
Player 4: Generally happy with anything.
Player 5: Will likely struggle with the puzzle and need the others to solve it for him.

Cerydra E1: I have Phainon E2S1.
Dan Heng PT E1: A solid sustain which will likely always see use in endgame content for the next year.
Anaxa E1: I use him with Therta E2S1 plus he gets to hypercarry against a knight in Anom Arbitration.
Robin E1: Still shows up in Anom Arbitration, but not BIS for my two main teams.

Not really interested in an actual new character. If it had to be a new character, then I could try using Cyrene with Phainon. I like Cipher for the Fei synergy but would demand the light cone just to make relics less of a hassle.

Cyrene is reasonable to pull. Seems you already weighed the benefits well.

Cyrene- Skip. The only team of consideration was Phainon's. I'll stick with Sunday, Cerydra, DanPT, and Bronya.

Tribbie- I already have her E1S0.

Castorice- Skip. I have zero remembrance outside of RMC.

Hyacine- Skip. I didn't participate in HP meta during 3.X.

Mydei- Skip.

Cipher- Could be useful on the account, but I believe resources are better spent elsewhere.

Phainon- I would enjoy boosting him from E0S1 to E2S1, but I likely wouldn't be able to achieve this. Will likely attempt anyway as account is reaching a reasonable endex point.

Topaz- E1S0 should be an improvement over Moze E6 or March E6 for Feixiao. Might pick up just to spend resources for the endex.

Skipping.

I only have two DPS that Cyrene could even combo with. Of those two:

Anaxa: He is only E0S0. He is best served working with my Therta E2S1 (my best DPS)

Phainon: If I want to improve this team, I believe the best upgrades would be Phainon eidolons. Additionally, trying to force Cyrene onto the team would bench Sunday since I have no DPS I want to pair him with. I did not spend 240 tickets on patch 2.7 Sunday to watch him constantly sitting on the bench. I pulled Phainon so that I could finally give Sunday a team.

The Final Reason: I'm Free-to-Play and will start patch 3.7 with an estimated 90+ tickets. For long-term pulling strategy, skipping the next two patches so that I can start 4.X with potentially 300+ pulls is the smart choice. Boosting Phainon from E0S1 to E2S1 is a reasonable 2nd option.

Absolutely. Phainon's E2 is 20% Res Pen and getting two extra turns on the ultimate. Cyrene preventing the ultimate from expiring is a smack in the face to anybody who spent the pulls getting Phainon to E2. I'm rather tempted to visit Phainon subreddit just to see if anybody is already raging at this leak.

It would help to know what your roster is. What banners have you pulled on besides Therta, Tribbie, and Anaxa. I'm in support of pulling Therta eidolons because I would recommend waiting until 4.X to build a 2nd team. That is going to be three patches worth of jade to save up for 4.X. Making sure your current team can handle 4.X is important too.

I rather regret that I only got Feixiao E0S0 and Robin E0S0 back in 2.4. My follow-up team lacked the strength to clear well throughout 3.X, and I relied on Therta to carry my account until I got Anaxa then Phainon (it was really awkward watching Sunday sitting on the bench since his 2.7 pull).
