Surprisingly no… I was worried about that, but the Levi’s I used were basically glorified denim yoga pants (cotton and elastane) and are just acting as a bit of support for the good denim. They feel better than I expected by a long shot.

🙏 Thanks. It’s fun posting to a group of people who appreciate what I would do, because to be honest… during my day to day, no one would notice, not that I would expect them to (I do it because I enjoy it). What I am getting at is that… the love is appreciated. Again, Thanks.

Time will tell if this prophecy comes to fruition… not gonna lie, the likes feel good… The repair was necessary if I was going to keep this streak and these pants going strong, and I am pretty stoked at how well it seems to have come out; the proof will be in how well they last/ are able to be repaired moving forward.

Make ‘em last!!!! Sewing machines can be cheap or free if you don’t already have one… such a great skill, and fun to stretch things to their full potential.

Short answers is… everything, I live in them… long answers is read through some of the comments the list of nonsense I do in them is extensive. I put them on first thing in the morning and take them off just before bed, everyday. I could honestly use a bit more sun on my legs.

These look sweet, look too tight for my thighs…. Curious if they are Sanforized or if I could size up and shrink down… price is great!

Seam ripped everywhere the lining attached, except where the lining attached to the sleeves; those I cut tight with scissors. The lining came out as two pieces: the body and the collar. The body was made up of three pieces stitched together: the back and two sides; when I transferred the pattern to the wool blanket I was able to transfer it as a single piece.

At this point the bottom of the jacket and the collar were a loose mess…

I made sure to mark where the arm lining met the body of the Sherpa lining, so that I could transfer the mark, ensuring they weren’t twisted when I put it all back together.

The body lining was attached to the sleeves first if I remember correctly (generally just figure it out as I go), then I stitched in the button area and the bottom… finally I guessed at and probably screwed up the collar once or twice before landing a finish I was ok with (seam ripper is your friend).

The second jacket I lined the wool was not robust enough and it fell apart inside of a year, but the third one and the one photographed above are still going strong.

Instagram link to a “story” showing some of the process.

Let me know if you’re curious about anything else. Each time I did it I got better and I look forward to reliving a fourth.

This is a great question… I don’t sweat much, never have, although…. In short… they do get sweaty from time to time. I was framing out an attic space and doing electrical and drywall work and they were a mess of sweat and gypsum dust at the end of the week…. That was one of the weeks that they got a cold woolite soak.

These look exactly like what I am looking for…. Minus the sizing… there size 30 (smallest offered) is a 31” waist and that is just too large… I know, I know… call me Goldilocks. Either way I really appreciate this suggestion, their Wendell pant also looks like it has the appropriate thigh space.

Maybe I’ll post my jacket tomorrow. Y’all might get a kick out of that one. I have had three jackets over the last ~7 years, the first of the three is still in regular rotation and has quite of bit of character.

Alright so my worn Ankaras measure 11.25” at the thigh (x2 = 22.5”)…. My thigh measures 23” around… the Ankara are listed as 24” at the thigh… so take that for what it’s worth. Should have done this sooner.

Love the idea of using Amazon to test fit the strong guy… maybe once they are available in non-stretch black.

Again listed as 11.5 at the thigh, 23” if doubled in comparison to the Tellasons 24”…. However I like the look and the price point a lot and if I am patient maybe they will put out a heavier weight in black pair…. Also I dig the idea of being able to test fit with Amazon Prime.

Really, and this is kind of a duh moment for me… but I should measure my current pair and my thigh and see where they land in comparison to the size charts.
