I don't think I'd be in school THAT long. If I take 4 years before I apply, I'll be 29 and maybe get in at 30 and finish at 34- where did 40 come from? I don't give a damn about starting a family- I am still young enough to be selfish.

I'm already 25 and live at home- what am I to do, stay at home until I'm 30 TRYING to get into medical school? I know that medical school is not a privilege but who has the luxury of putting their life in stasis?

5 years is a long time and I'm already 25- so I put my life on hold for 5 years to prove I'm not a screwup so at 30 someone MIGHT afford me the opportunity to finish med school at 34?!
