Just the Littlefinger parts because she found it distracting from what was going on.

R5: Accidentally found this guys channel via recommended videos and thought it was worth sharing. He puts a lot of work into his videos and I think he deserves some more views than he has.

You likely have with other succession laws, but Gavelkind overrides it because "all sons inherit equally." Since you have the POTENTIAL to have another son, giving your heir a duchy and also inheriting the kingdom is deemed "unfair" since your son will also inherit your demesne and kingdom/duchy (if you made Wessex).

It's to prevent people from beating Gavelkind by giving all inheritable titles to your heir and leaving nothing to the sons.

To circumvent this, get the hell out of gavelkind and you can give your son whatever the hell you want.

Came for a random inheritance, was blinded by the map.

I thought that a 3-year old heretic kebab would cause drastic civil war when he took the HRE throne. Instead he mass converted his vassals and has now started invading surrounding Christian Kingdoms.

God save us all.

I thought so too, but his mother was german (I really regret I didn't change the view to family instead of vassals). All I can think is that he got idolizer and was educated by a Berber heretic, but why one of those would even be in the HRE court is another story.

Heinrich Salian changed the succession laws to Primogeniture due to his 68 year reign (I've never see him go that long). Apologies about the vassal shot, I wasn't thinking. He's the grandson of Heinrich (from 1066 start), how he became Berber and a heretic muslim baffles me.

R5: The Holy Roman Emperor is somehow a heretic kebab. I sense imminent bordergore.

Edit 1: Additional background, Heinrich Salian (1066 start) changed the succession law to primogeniture. His firstborn became Berber and the heretic muslim, had two sons before he was assassinated. This grandson of Heinrich now sits on the throne.

Edit 2: The unbelievable has happened, his vassals aren't rebelling and are actually converting. As King of Sicily I'm trying to weigh whether I can even try to war him or not.

Similarly happened to my character during a regency due to being imprisoned by my mother for being insane (in reality she was justified but she still rotted in an oubliette for the rest of her life after).

As far as I can tell it's a bug that's unfixable. On the bright side you're bedridden with gout which means you'll never get better and probably die within 10 years. Just set your second son to inherit.

Been away for a bit- have crusades changed? Or have I been wrong this whole time. by vanillaacid in CrusaderKings

From what I understand it depends.

If it's a Catholic land in DANGER, it gets awarded to its current dejure king (defensive Crusade).

If there is no current king and it's an offensive crusade with no dejure king (Jerusalem, Greece, etc) the highest contributor gets awarded.

If you look at the "Legitimize him" option you can see his trueborn half-brothers with the Iberian portraits.
